All your posts so far had shown you to be the ultimate left wing liberal crusader, then you pop with your anti-english remark!!!! Of course this is called banter. Being anti English is okay as it is the acceptable face of racism.

That's probably the best worded post on here IMO.

    Pretty much the real picture.

As soon as anyone lands in the UK, they can claim asylum at any port of entry.

They then have claims processed by the Home Office, with chance to appeal to the IAA - Immigration Appellent Authority (where I work), then the IAT - Immigration Appeals Tribunal (I think!!! Hahaha, I'm useless, I know!), then the Court of Appeal, then the House of Lords, and finally the European Court if they're rejected throughout.

There are certain grounds they can appeal on, but a decent rep can argue these points.

It used to take years to get them through the system.

Legislation has just come into force, meaning some claims are processed within 7 days of entry with no right of appeal whatsoever. The asylum figures have started to fall, and the new hearing centres which are openning have really sped up the appeal process.

I do believe this legislation will help greatly, as it includes provisions to detain asylum seekers upon entry. It's working as both a deterrent for these so-called "economic immigrants" and as a fast track system to remove same from the country with no right of appeal.

The legislation also permits out of country asylum appeals so seekers claim through the embassy in the claimant country. Certain countries, such as certain eastern European and Balcan states (including others from memory - got all the notes in the office) are deemed "safe" and asylum claims from those countries are made through the embassy and fast tracked with no right of appeal.

As Joe said, there's a lot of unrest at the illegal immigrants, taking jobs of UK citizens. This, in certain areas, has given rise to political parties such as the BMP and has generated a great deal of social unrest. Sadly, if thigs continue this way, I can see social unrest escillating and a real race problem developing in certain hotspots where asylum seekers are given refuge.

Hahahaha, wrote all of this and bet no one bothers to read it! :p
