    you can get hotels in thailand for £14 per room per night...you would pay over £150 over here for the same standard...

    I really want to go to the south of Thailand...it was too soon after the tsunami when we travelled... :( But Cambodia was amazing & I'll deffo be heading back to Thailand to go to the beaches in the south :D

    Whats crime like over there?

    Reason I ask is I was gonna take either my mobile or PDA to use as GPS device, help us find places easier.

    Likely to get robbed/murdered for it?

    dunno but i never take anything too expensive anywhere except my camera...don't even take jewellry with me when i go...

    just get a lonely planet guide & you'll be right :up:

    tis up to you but i personally wouldn't....it'd make you possibly more of a target for your geeky stuff where as who would want a book written in english :p

    that's just what i'd do...also if you're on a sleeper train sleep & not in a private carraige sleep with your baggage against the wall cos it means people will have to lean over you to try & nick it.. :D

    go to an evening market when you are there...you can get cheap herbs n spices, really nice dinner sets & green tea :drool: at well cheap prices :D

    you can also get chepa clothes over there...

    have you got a ruck sack??

    it'll be easier for travelling around than a suitcase :up:

    that's the best idea...when i went with my mam last year i even got her to take a rucksack :up:

    are you spending a full day in bangkok??
    & are you planning on sight seeing there?

    I think the others are stayin 1 night in Bangkok - will be leaving shortly after I get there the day after I think.

    Altho may stay an extra day to give me a chance to get sum rest cos will be shattered!

    you can rest on the train to the beaches man!! don't stay in bangkok if you can avoid it :up:
