only true if you are lazy and just play what is big at the time like the majority of these so called 'pro' djs....no offence but you like people like Steve Angello who to be frank, are prime examples of what im talking about

Its a victim of its own formula to me - every tom dick and harry seems to make a 7 minute, 140bpm track with some kind of peak, trough and build and an epic play out for the last 2 minutes ..... Too many people trying to make the next tune that ends up with a vocal over it on Top of the Pops (RIP).

Trance as a genre still has plenty of life in it - but only for DJ's that do more than pick tunes off the shelf and think that will turn them into Tiesto.

On the flip side.... in recent months ive seen PVD and Tiesto and both enjoyed them immensely as 'one offs' - Its just a shame that its collapsed under its own weight with everyone trying to play some kind of massive hands in the air set as soon as they get behind the decks. Im betting anyone over 21 years old will soon find that quite tiring.

Go through a James Holden Set and try that one Alexander ;)

Back in the Brandon bloc days, the whole Vinyl thing was what set the DJ's apart from the punters who couldnt get ahold of all these cool tunes .... then the same happened with CDr's

These days its the DJ's that make themselves unique in terms of the music you CANT get anywhere else that has made Holden and Sasha interesting these days.

so your telling me he is good? any clown can do what he does. play whats big and fuck up sets. and he gets payed to do it  i could mix better than him 4 years ago. fair play to the bloke he has done alot for the british music industry but he is an embarasment set-wise.

i can't really be arsed, but if you can't find these tunes your obviously not looking hard enough.

In todays world you can even get music before its signed to a label if you no were to look.

Other changes ive noticed are the clubbing messageboards are dying down

old clubbers you still keep in contact with would rather meet up elsewhere other than a club

or people are really biased towards clubs they used to go to

    Do You Agree or Disagree

You might find it hard with DJs who produce a lot of their own music, and play stuff that they have the only copy of.

i know  if you use illegal sharing programs you can never find the less mainstream stuff, and if a big dj has been playing it, it could have been given to him by the producer. who isnt going to release it for a year! my mate has a cd from pacha 2 years ago and it has tom novy- your body on it. it wasnt released untill last summer! they can keep miles ahead of everyone else if they obtain a following of arse licking producers. :)

What im saying is that if your man Angello is playing Sweet Dreams and <insert one of his cronies rubbish tracks> at every single gig then its pretty obvious that people are going to find it easy to identify and then track down the tracks.

I went to see Matt Tolfrey and Marc Ashken who play the type of music i am really into but I only recognised 2 tracks all night
