    yeah i was still in my suit from work also, had gone into town to watch the arsenal v juve game and hadn't eaten since lunch so i was desperate. never again though. :lol:

    bet they were all looking funny at you and had a rather confused look on their faces....what the hell is he wearing?!?! they wont ever have seen a suit before :lol:

    i can't remember what it's called but it was mozzerella & parma ham with bread crumbs & a tomato saucey thing for starters is lush :love: :drool:

    best italian in town is the cheapest... panis cafe.

    seco's ok not a fan of azzuri.

    but take them for an english - best authentic english cuisine is blackfriars - very traditional cooking.

    Marco Polo on Dean Street is pretty nice went there for my 21st, service was spot on aswell. Never tried anyhere else really so couldnt comment :D

    As they are Italian I would avoid anywhere like Coco Mos, Prima, Marco Polo etc like the plague. While the food may be ok, it is a million miles from anything really Italian. Personally I would go for Cafe Roma (Collingwood Street, Newcastle's first Italian restaurant), Franchescas or Sabatinis. These are actually run by Italians and about the closest you will get to authenticity.

    i had lunch in sabatinis and it was awful. slow as well.
