This is a good thing

My work car park was pretty much empty (3 cars in it)...was given suitable use before coming into work, finishing with a skillful hand brake turn into the parking bay nearest the door....got out feeling all smug, and the door was locked  :D

I like driving in the snow to be honest, apart from on the motorway

    :(

My mum is the same really, you just have to be careful and not panic!

If you start to slide, turn IN to the skid to counter it

Dont stamp on the brakes either if you dont have ABS

Some useful snow survival skills there :p

What gets on my nerves is the horrendous traffic it causes because people drive unnecissarily slow at times

    Thankyou chik :)

How do you know if you have ABS brakes? Also when i break when it slippy, it feels like grinding and that the car isnt gonna stop

If you have ABS and stamp on the breaks, the peddle will bounce, as the brakes go on and off quickly to stop the wheels locking up...once you lock up you are pretty much helpless. So its useful to know that when driving (not just in snow) and you need to brake hard and lock up, get off the breaks and on again quickly...like pump the brakes so the wheels dont lock!

I think that just generally happens on snow/ice, the wheels grinding...your wheels have probs locked up by then. Its different in snow though because there is pretty 0 grip even at low speeds so keep your distance and if anybody gets too close, give him the Vs
