Who said this board is dead eh?!?!

A quick point on the line-up - I'd be interested to know how many of the people who think it's 'shite' or 'overpriced' have actually seen either Gleave or Shan before??

I've never seen Gleave but was well impressed with Shan when he wwarmed up for Askew a couple of months back. Junior G is meant to be a small underground trance night - it royally fucks me off when people moan about DJ's they've never seen / heard. The big name formula failed - here you have 2 young upcoming DJ's and producers, support them for fucks sake rather than not going to the night because there's not a 'recognised' name on the line-up.

It should be about the music not the DJ's name - the negativity on here sometimes is astounding.

    Rant over...

i think gleave and shan ARE spot on personally - still a tenner is maybe a little high - but it seems to be the going rate in newcastle at the mo... the poor clubbing crowd dictate this

good idea in theory but realistically, how much passing trade are you going to get when noone who isnt massively into that music will know who they are?

I agree that you need to give these unknown people a chance but why not put them alongside established names so that the customer is getting value for money because Im not convinced that that lineup costs £10 per customer when you compare it to previous line ups with arguably bigger names for the same price.

aye but theres no sense in running a night at an attractive price if you always lose money

SHAN was mint at the askew gig

TOM!!! i fail to see why a none club person would hang out on a clubbing message board

but i see you have met some of the people who dj for junior g by your comments

Fair point - it's not O'bir or Askew admittedly. My anger was aimed at those who are into trance and won't go because it's not a big name. By all accounts Junior G has been good so far so why not trust the night - it clubbing's obsession with 'name' DJ's (trance is particularly bad with this) that gets to me.

There was loads of moaning when Promise finished - Junior G is shaping up well and needs people to get behind it.

September 8th I'm guessing as normally 2nd Friday of the month. Will wait and see the line-up before deciding whether to come back up early. You back in newcastle by then mate??
