So my whole life should be put at a stand still to keep local nights going?? sorry but I have a life outside of the lazers, I go clubbing when i see a dj I like advertised, and other weeks believe it or not....do other stuff outside of clubbing

imo local nights are killed when promoters go on and on about stuff like this on message boards, people see the shite being spurted and judge the place before going.

what i meant was if you like only go to a night once to see big name famous bast**d and then never go again , how is the night supposed to sustain itself month in month out if theres like 500 people with that same attitude

clubbing aint the be all and end all of life but regualr nights wouldnt run if they didnt get regular suppport

thats why there no more vuzz, promise, and countless other nights whihc have crashed and burned

when they really needed the support it werent there

but i do like the "PETE KILLED CLUBBING " slogan

i went about 5 times , 4 of those times were when GAV (who knew what he was doing) ran it at the cottage

the last time me , smurf, paul , pete and phil went , there were about 15 people there in what is now charles grey

i wouldve went more but (a) trance isnt my genre of choice
and as you and rossy know genres are most important

    (b) i wouldve got me head kicked in by the vuzz massive for constantly winding them on the board

trance isn't really my thing either though, but I like john o'callaghan so went to see him, so does that mean i have to support the trance scene every week?

and stop making excuses up lol joe went to promise a few times after winding people up twice as bad as what you have ;)

it doesn't like, i went to vuzz before promise everytime i went, then went quite often when it was at greys, les hemstock, ronski speed, went after the radio1 thing that time and a few more that i can't remember now.

and if genres aren't important what do you advertise when putting posters and threads up about your night, DETOX well it's all dance at the end of the day, you use genres to attract people, it's no different to us using them to decide what nights to go to :)

I think we bill it as energy, trance, hard dance, techno, old skool , car boot disco, house, electro, and a sprinkling of old skool flavours

and theres been drum and base and jungle and gabba played

so we are hardly pidgeon holing or subgenrefying things cos we play anything

I think weve established you were a bonafide vuzz fan

    :p

ok an example, there's a blatent difference in sound between funky house, and progressive house is there not? are you trying to tell me there shouldn't be a different genre for these? lol

Local nights die because they aren't putting stuff on that people want to go to. I won't go to a night and spend a shed load of my hard earned cash because it's the 'noble' thing to do for the scene if I don't like what they are doing. Simple as.
