Brits snap up homes abroad every day. I'm sure you know people who have bought homes in Bulgaria, Portugal, Spain etc, thus pushing the local population out of the market as they just can't compete. The prices of houses have rocated in Australia recently, especially in Perth, due to Brits coming over here and buying with the spare cash they have from selling back home in the UK, pushing 'normal everyday' Australians out of the market.

Hey, I've come over here, and like many Brits, took a job away from an Aussie. This Howard government is a fucking joke!

I agree in regards to the labour part. I couldn't get a job at various industrial places in and around Alnwick due to Poles working for nothing, working longer hours, and basically being better workers! But on the flip side, they've made the price of vodka plummet

Well the ones around Alnwick are as they are the only fuckers willing to get up at 4.30 each morning to work in the saw mill. I compare it to fruit picking here. Australians can't be bothered working 6 days a week picking vegetables, so its up to young Brits and Irish to do it on backpacking visa's

which brings me onto another gripe with this government

benefits, theyre handed out too easy and in most cases go to the wrong people. they give away too much of our tax money to people who cant be arsed to work and expect a living from the state.

we need to sort out this shite like, and the only way is to drastically cut the amount of benefits we hand out.

i know all to well the sort of person this country needs to get to grips with.

the sort who arent working yet manage to have sky tv and gym memberships, i see their accounts everyday

Well instead of winging on the internet, do something about it. Get involved with your local council, write letters to your local MP, the Government or protest instead of being a message board politician/social commentator

Opinions count, if its the collective opinion of many. To use an analogy, if one or two people complain about Curly Watts being a bellend, nothing will be done. If half the board did, something would be done (an idea for the future perhaps)

If a million people wrote to the government expressing their worry about, in this instance, migrant labour, then they would have to pay attention, especially if the media got involved. However, most people are just too lazy/think that their voice won't count, so sit back and go on about how the UK is going down the drain, then take the easy option of "I'm going to vote for the opposition", ala Lee, who I'm sure he'll whinge about five years down the line.
