as a medium the net u mean hubs n soulseek n stuff yah?

To use these sites you must first have name.... without a name (which is lee's point) its near impossible to find.

and before u mention juno and messageboards, etc. they're word of mouth and music sales - just over a different medium :D

    no shit sherlock,

but we're talking about people not sharing track names, the internet without track names is nothing...

Your taking this out of context.

Even if they didnt share track names, you could still find out what they were with some research. Plus if u read his column in musik (when it was there) you knew what he liked anyway. Its no big deal.

revel this was never about lee, I couldn't give two shits what tunes he plays - its not my cuppa.

This thread is about sharing music or not sharing music... it isn't hard to understand.

My point was if every dj did what Lee did - it would damage the industry.

It is my opinion but history is on my side :D

    jesus christ!

It wa sjust a conversation, I thought it was interesting - wondered what lee's thoughts were... a bit of banter.

You find every untrance related thread boring :p

THERE IS MORE TO LIVE THAN TRANCE :p

What do u do when your talking to people who don't know trance (or people you can't graft ;) :p )

well, i can see why Lee does what he does with his tracklists and stuff...

but personally, like i told joe, i dont agree with it myself, i agree with allie, i think it is arrogant...and no it aint jealousy as i couldnt give a toss about trance at the moment, im fed up of it.

in my eyes, what Lee does is like pretending to be MR Foster a brand new artist on the scene, and if someone comes along the Mona Lisa he uses it for his own good instead of crediting the real artist.

If i produced a track and he used it in his CD's or live and didnt credit me id be rather pissed off. yes i download mp3's to find out what they sound like, but then id rather purchase them on vinyl and i delete the mp3's...so whats wrong with that, its just like browsing thru a record shop at the listening booth.

Producing is an art.... a DJ is someone who plays or shows that art to an audience.... but its what the DJ does with that art that makes him the DJ.....not what pieces of art he owns.

no wonder labels have been shutting down!!!

I swear you guys crack me up big time! Familiarity breeds contempt.

Read and digest those who think my policy is ‘arrogant’

    Oxford English Dictionary:

Arrogant (of a person, attitude) aggressively assertive or presumptuous; haughty, overbearing.

So keeping track listings restricted is arrogant eh?

    I love this site!

    :)

So what does the DJ do with the said art, as not to detract from its aesthetic or acoustic value?

    :D

DJ SWAMP mutakates himself with fragments of records while scratching... a performance damien hirst would be jealous off :d

I think the whole dj is an artist malarky is comical... turntablism one could argue a strong case for - but ur standard dj just plays records and a good dj plays them very well :D

i try not to mouth off about my new tunes, as it is very rare these days people like me can find good tunes that everyone who d/ls 24/7 is not already bored of!!!

if i am lucky enough to do so, the last thing i want to do is tell everyone what it is so word can spread!!
