I'm moving in with mine in October. I'm sure it will be fine, but I've told her I may just retreat to the bedroom on some evenings to have a bit of time on my own.

 I still live at home with my mam. I love it tho. Its easy living. Its too expensive to move out alone and I dont wana live with randoms just for the sake of it.

How on earth do those of you who live at home explain the states you must sometimes go home in?

Do any of you ring and let them know if you're still at an afterparty by the time they wake up the next morning, or do they only start worrying if you've been missing for a couple of days?

In the four months I did live at home after graduating, I often stayed at a friend's house after a night out. My mum always asked me to ring her if I wasn't coming home for the night, just so she wouldn't worry, no matter what time it was.

    Sounds good!

Sorry for all the questions, I'm just really curious as I haven't lived at home for so long, and I've never been close friends with anyone who has.

I always text my mum and let her know if I won't be home. Shes used to me going to afterparties after a night out now anyway! I usually come home the next morning

I live in 2 bed flat by myself. My mortgage is only £200 though so I can't complain. Thought it'd be really lonely but it's not that bad. It's right next to the metro so easy peasy to get into time and spend a bit of time at my boyfriend's flat. Have thought about getting someone to live in the other room but not to sure I could put up with it. At least at the minute I can do absolutely whatever I want.

After living away at Uni for 3 years there's no way I could still live with my parents, they did my head in in the 4 months I lived back home constantly asking who I wa sout with where I was going why I never cam ehome last night! I know they were only looking out for me but I'd spent 3 years in a different city with them not knowing what was going on!! Saying that though if I hadn't been to Uni I think I would probably be still living with them!

Mobiles were barely in existence when I was living at home. Finding a payphone, waking ones mother up at 3am, then drunkenly rambling that I wouldn't be home that night was sometimes rather entertaining!

I didn't actually mind telling mine where I was - she never commented on it, just wanted to know for safety's sake.

I've had my own place for almost 3 years now. Lived on my own for the first 3 months then Hogg moved in around the same time as my 2 cats did.

I don't see Hogg much cos he works funny hours so I don't have the problem of needing my own space :D

I didn't realise how bad it was living with parents til I moved out. Would never go back now. I have a class relationship with them now I don't live there anymore.

How does anyone manage to 'entertain' guests with their folks around?

Also... your missing out on one of lifes great pleasures - walking around like nature intended.

The pleasures of moving out - ahhhhhh!

I don't walk round the house naked just because I can. It's handy if I get up in the middle of the night though cos I don't need to bother finding my dressing gown
