Fair enough, that's decent like. The space thing is good although i record a program, watch it within a few days and then get rid. Would be nice to have the extra space at times though.

Surely though there will be people who have Cable TV but an BT landine?

This argument is never gonna end

Basicaly, Sky customers who enjoy watching 24, Lost, Prison Break, Simpsons etc will be better off sticking with Sky.

Why do people assume that everyone knows how to download tv shows? Hardly anyone does.

Other people often do. And your reply to me saying that sky customers would be better off sticking with sky for such tv shows, was "Fuck that! Illegal downloads using Virgin's top notch broadband service".

Who were you referring to? Only nucastle.co.uk members? ;)

I'm merely saying that in my opinion, it is worth going for virgin for their broadband service alone. Sky one isn't a big miss and you can download the FEW decent shows that they have for free off the internet.

i think most people will stick with what they have tbh...

and its a lot easier to work out/ask how to download stuff than change provider...

new customers will go for cable if they want better/faster net, or sky if they want the extra tv channels...

    simple really

I had 10 meg and used to get Movies (DVD rips) in 5-10 mins flat, downloading at up to 1.1meg per second.

That hasn't changed on 2 meg!!!

The only noticeable difference is trying to browse whilst downloading at the same time, obviously there isn't as much bandwith to play with....but as far as downloads go there's no difference! :)
