Can you imagine is Habit had taken the same attitude as the GG lads did last year & closed its doors when they did, clubbers would have never seen a fraction of the names that have been on.

As far as I can see, nights are similar yes, but not identical, there are months when headliners are from a similar genre but it's never consistent enough to have a lasting effect.

I think the lack of punters/clubbers these days is sheerly down to Newcastle itself, we dont have the interest in weekly clubbing up here like there is in other Cities.

    NO,

i am saying that people setting up nights that basically fasten onto the latest trend - in this instance minimal techno
do nothing for the longevity of that genre

theres 4-5 nights covering the minimal / techno sound at present

habit, freaky dancing, error, jaunt, lube etc

I know for a fact that there being that many nights running/ covering that kind of sound is too many for the clubbing demographic of newcastle

name me one of those nights that in very recent times has cleared the 400 people mark

and with the cost of the acts that are getting booked its not sustainable

yous all griefed me re: the digital prediction ages ago, but mark my words at least 2 maybe even 3 of those nights wont be running in 6-12months time.

i think you have taken what i have said way out of context

the problem is 'theres too many people wanting to be the next mr famous'

looking at starting a night with A NAME, instead of buidling something from scratch

theres one night locally that are bucking this trend at present

    BEAT THERAPY

    :)

aye we knew as soon as evolve turned up junior g was done for really, it was just the fact that everyone loved it, looked forward to it every month, every night i had there was unreal and it had everything going for it in terms of lineups etc. If you asked anyone if they could choose what night they would rather have now 99% of people would say Junior G over Evolve.

 I heard you weren't happy about the techno warmups like. End of the day we like music across the whole scale and basically you can see that with the lineups, the august lineup might not be to your taste either:eek:  I take it you won't be down stereo till after 9 next friday then?!

it was a point of reference, yous dont turn 400plus every month is what i was meaning

and when there are 6 similar musically sounding events in 1 month the only thing that is going attract huge numbers is CARL COX

    :chill:

WHAT POWER TOOL IS SAYING IS CORRECT.

THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO THE DRUM AND BASS SCENE A FEW YEARS AGO. THE WHOLE THING WAS FLOODED WITH NIGHTS. ONE EVERY NIGHT AND WHAT HAPPENED...THEY ALL FAILED...AND THE ONES WITH MONEY SURVIVED AND REGULARLY BOOK THE SAME DJ'S TO PLAY ON ROTATION EVERY YEAR.

THATS GONNA HAPPEN WITH THIS WHOLE MINIMAL THING AT THE MO...YES...ITS PRETTY TRENDY TO LOVE IT DESPITE WHAT PEOPLE WHO LOVE IT ACTUALLY CLAIM...BUT AS FAR AS I KNOW ERROR WAS FIRST AND NOW OTHERS ARE TRYING TO MUSCLE IN ON THEIR SUCCESS AND TAKE A SLICE OF THEIR PIE. BUT ALL THAT HAPPENS NOW IS A DIVIDE...PEOPLE DONT HAVE THE MONEY TO GO TO EVERY NIGHT THATS ON...TONIGHT IS JAUNT AND AT JAUNT YOU WILL PROBS FIND THE MAJORITY OF ERRORS CROWD...BUT MAYBE SOME OF THE PEOPLE AT JAUNT WOULD ACTUALLY LIKE TO GO TO PROMISE...THEY CAN ONLY AFFORD ONE...SO WHAT DO THEY DO...

CHOICE IS ALWAYS WELCOME BUT FLOODING THE MARKET IS ANOTHER MATTER ALL TOGETHER...YOU SEE FLOODING EVERY SEASON WITH THE MUSIC SCENE...SOMETHING BECOMES POPULAR SO YOU GET A BUNCH OF TALENTLESS HEATHENS ALL TRYING TO GET A PIECE AND RUINING IT FOR THE PEOPLE THAT CREATED IT IN THE FIRST PLACE.

AN EXAMPLE OF WHICH IS PUNK AND ITS INCEPTION IN 1977. BECAME MASSIVE, CREATED A MOVEMENT...LOADS OF PEOPLE STARTED TO ATTEMPT TO CASH IN...WHAT DID THAT DO...KILLED IT.

THATS WHAT POWER TOOL IS GETTING AT.

STOP TRYING TO BERATE HIM WHEN HE SPEAKS SENSE AND CAN SEE PAST THE NEXT 3 MONTHS...WHICH LOOKS LIKE A BIG BUNCH OF FIFIMEN ARE TRYING TO BLING UP THEIR NAMES IN AN ATTEMPT TO MAKE IT BIG...IN NEWCASTLE...

JUST AS A SIDE NOTE...I DO NOT KNOW POWER TOOL AND HAVE NO AFFILIATION WITH ANY NIGHTS.

i think you have a short memory 'mate' WHO FLYERED PAUL VAN DYK FOR YOU WHEN YOU F***KED OFF TO MANCHESTER

who essentially is having you on in the detox tent at kiddstock???

before you fire out these replies, i would tread carefully and check your banter that you are splurging without thought on here

the reason i need extra flyer people at venues is because i am off flyering other venues in the north east

i dont have the time or resources to cover every venue myself

i also dont have to justify not being outside of exhibit a, i mean why would i need to be outside of exhibit a, its hardly a target audience for me

the attic, have i been in , YES, when i looked at it last xmas when we were thinking about holding works christmas party in there

    imho its a terrible venue

when i was exit flyering clubs 7-8 years ago you were still waiting for pubes, so i hardly need to justify my flyering activities to you now do I

    RANT OVER

:lol:I miss read your post i sincerely apologise :dunce: And you are right, we are trying to put a range of music choice on, and not the same stuff every month.

I had heard that the minimal at the last event was put into question by you? Maybe not then?

The way i see it is if a group of young lads want to put a night on and attract some very good dj's on in their favoured genre then they should go for it, if having a quality night with good music and a big group of mates, added to that like minded clubbers who are up for the same banter then it shouldn't be about money, as long as the dj's and the venues covered then anything else is a bonus. When club nights take themselves too seriously thats when it seems to go downhill.

Yes you flyered once for me when I was in Manchester - thank you.

BARRY FROM GOODGREEF is having me on at Kiddstock NOT DETOX, if you think otherwise, by all means give him a shout & he'll be happy to clarify this for you, I knew the date for this Kiddstock a day after last years & have been booked since... it's a GG event & it's Goodgreef that are paying me, they've merely gave you a tent so dont get above your station & try & tell me you've put me on when it simply isn't the case.

You said you flyered all the recent events to which you'd seen a drop in numbers - again you were incorrect. You DIDN'T attend lube when Beyer was on so how on earth can ou say it will never work, yes a few people never enjoyed it, but I daresay a boat load did.
Oh & personally Im really not fussed how long you've been sticking posters up in takeaways mate it has no relevance to you original remark.

I honestly like you Melt but sometimes you come across on here a little bitter & twisted with uneducated remarks.

hugging trees , if you dont like it , fuck off , i
didnt take long for things to revert back to what they were like a few months ago.:argue:

i read an interview latey by a local international dj who said mesage boards were not a place to talk about people and were the downfall of dj's/promotors themselfs, he speaks the truth.. but the toon is a small place and enough is enough , lets just all grow up , go to social clubs and play darts, dominoes and have pie n pea suppers

I dont know who mr KHUNT is but he is the only one intelligent enough on here to understand my point

its nice to see the unity from mr proud ,i make one nicely constructed point and he goes off all guns blazing trying to shoot me down for not standing out like a noggin til 4am at every night going handing out pieces of card, IVE BEEN THERE AND DONE MY STINT ON THAT and still do it

question for you gary, when did you last see the people who run gatecrasher or good greef outside of any these clubnights flyering, thats right you didnt , as they have an army of hangers on doing it for them.
