No once have I ever knocked that you back me up Melt, but I suggest you take your own sound advice sometimes & read back what you say as you tend to trip yourself up.

As I've said I do get a long with you but dont agree with some of the comments passed. The quote about Kiddstock was merely backing myself up as you threw a totally inaccurate comment at me.

The other comments were stupid & stuff got brought up & lied about that didnt really need to be mentioned, but so be it.

My Original comment does stand, I dont think for one minute that anyone who runs a small scale night in the area would ever think they can make it big or in it as they think they can make a buck for that mater, everyone I know does it because they love it, if anything ever did come good for them then I suppose they can sit back safe in the knowledge that they got there from their own hard graft, as it's these same folk you see at all hours in stinking Takeaways putting up posters & outside Nightclubs dishing out their flyers all weather.

Nights will come & go, it's been like this for years not only in Newcastle but the whole of the UK. One thing you wont ever be able to do is stop it, if it's good people will turn up, or if another night is better than the one you've put on then yes you will suffer unfortunately.

Exactly mate it wasn't just good for trance in newcastle, it also give opportunities to a load of genres upstairs in the boudoir to a big host of local dj's that are now starting there own nights, without junior G would this have happened? Maybe not, so even if junior G was set out by goodgreef as a marketing ploy for tall trees then it done a lot more things for clubbing in newcastle than that, i mean look at the back room in evolve, totally empty and thats where the local lads are supposed to be given a chance, how can they when its shut?Junior G done a hell of a lot of good things for newcastle in the short term like, and if the current crop of nights are successful then in the long term it could be seen as a positive catalyst for a lot of genres in the toon.

I'm not arsed about the morals or reasons behind a night. I go to have a good time, and if it's good then I'll probably go back again. I don't care if one night puts another out of business and nor do I care how much money they make or lose. I am completely selfish!

Also - Didn't promise used to be on every week and most people afforded that? I think the reason people cant afford to go to all of these nights now is because alot of the people on here got older, possibly had kids and more than likely have a mortgage. If you look at the younger people on here then they seem to go out clubbing atleast once a week, if not twice.

There's either too many nights or too few and people will always moan either way.

exactly, Detox would be the same if was more regular, the shame is that it isnt, although the future line-ups look wicked.

JnR G was consistant, Evolve isnt, although the last one was superb, future line-up's after the summer might head toward the harder end of things (hopefully not).

IMHO Goodgreef has it cracked*. even when they did there night in Digital they put on the local lads in the JnrG bit and the OtherRooms, to which most of us here went to for the sole purpose of seeing all the DJ's in the backrooms - not the massively overblown hardstyle DJ's banging it out in the main room - to which the mainstream punters loved.

The Minimal House/techno squad are having it hard tho - theres alot more competition, but i regard that as a highly interesting and complex scene, and i can imagine - due to all the promotion - the scene getting even bigger.

i wish them all good luck. :)

*adam sheridan is a bad booking tho. anytime.

aint totally inaccurate but i am too tired too argue

    my only points are

    adam beyer - good booking

attic - not my fave club AND NOT A GOOD CLUB

and thirdly too many minimal techno nights in toon

this third point will be proved in the fullness of time just as the corporate beast that was / is digital showed itself to be just that

    with re: to "lies"

    £15 definately aint 20 quid

and man of science can comment on the guesty thing when he gets back online

    PEACE

It's natural selection Melt. The poorer nights will die out and the good ones will probably stick around a bit longer. Eventually nearly all nights die out.

I hear what your saying like but the nights I've been to this year have all been quite busy or packed. I prefer a club to be busy rather than packed to the rafters anyways.

Granted were all in the 'Detox' tent but all of the above are playing through GG what I believe is there event, yes they have you on board but you aint booked any DJ's other than the ones that regualrly play for Dteox nights in that tent?

I dont want to fall out with you mate, it's probably best left, you & I know who's been booked through whom so we'll let sleeping dogs lie :groovy: :chill:
