Not really the point though, we still had more fans there regardless. You lot had more fans there than us last night, though lets not start comparing empty seats for your own sake... It was a good attendance against Sheff Wed though in the Championship we did exactly the same thing - i recall having 45k against Burnley, 44k against Leeds etc when we were down there. Newcastle have had higher attendances than Sunderland since the Keegan era and SJH extended the stadium to what it is now, so you comparing the attendances of the two and buzzing over 1k more is hardly going to upset us. If anything the gap between the two has been getting smaller and smaller for about 5 years now, and if it keeps going the way it is we will be averaging more over the next couple of years. It makes me laugh people having a go at ours just for something to cling onto, yet overlook the point that for any club to be averaging 40k+ every home game and taking maximum allocation away to every away match for as long as i can remember is fucking brilliant support for a club who have won fuck all in my lifetime. This also goes for Newcastle as well - if the two had any kind of success the potential for growth is scary and its a credit to both sets of fans the support they get while having to endure such shite on the pitch for the past 20-30 years. Keep on clinging onto it all yous want - i couldnt give a fuck, ill take solace in us playing premiership football with a team and club on the up. Enjoy Palace on saturday lads.
again its like compairing a nissan micra too an impreza, sunderland are in a different league to newcastle
This is starting to get a bit like boxing, when a shit boxer keeps calling out a much better opponent trying to make a name for himself off the back of it. Like when Carl Froch kept calling out Joe Calzaghe, when everyone knew he didnt have a chance. The newcastle fans and now players having digs at Sunderland when they can see that there is no comparison between the two clubs, different leagues, vastly different on and off field situations... Get over it lads eh?
