Kerry, I told you, DL some Richie Hawtin DE9 (Dex, Efx & 909) stuff, or Dave Clarke's Essential Mix (79 tunes in 2 hours), and it'll surely turn you on to the sound that is Techno!

People are on about such Techno greats as Dave CLarke, Sven Vath and Chris Liebing @ Promise, but why not Mr Hawtin himself? Would probably blow a yearly budget or somethin mind, but damn, it'd be worth it!

Shindig has a 'True House Music' policy.

Some Techno is Techno that would work very well at Promise, especially considering everyone apparently loves Picotto. However, the housier, more percussive side of Techno wouldn't work as well, and would suit the floors of Shindig better.
There are many different sub-genres within Techno. As many as there are in House music, maybe more, you just have to open your mind and explore them :D

So why does he describe himself as playing tech trance?

And if i am not mistaken isn't that a form of techno?

Well not exactly, it's Techno-influenced Trance. However, this is a genre specification Picotto was given a long time ago. Now, Picotto, as well as some of the other DJs of around the same genre are moving more and more toward pure Techno. Listen to one of Mauro's recent sets, I assure you, it's Techno. Maybe not as hard as some of the Acid-Techno DJs like Chris Liberator, maybe not as Housey as the Percussive Techno sounds of Mr Carl Cox, but it's definately Techno of one form or another.

Haha! He's just educating people, and has been since he started getting a lot of recognition in '99 for 'Lizard'!
Won't be long before the sound of such Techno messiahs as Richie Hawtin and Chris Liberator are blasting out of Promise!

From what I've heard, Chris Liebing's great. Aint heard much of his stuff though. Mate of mine from college absolutely worships him!
I have broadband, so hopefully that mix won't take too long to DL. Where can I get it from?

From winmx but it will still take ages to download even with broardband since it is a 470MB file. Defo worth the dowload though.
