Most moderate muslims in the west thought the cartoons were deeply insulting, but they didn't burn down the American/British embassys.

The volatile reaction of the east is directly linked to western impirealism in the arab world, every act from Palestine to Afghanistan is another log on the fire.... Had there not been the current tensions in the middle east the cartoons would of passed unnoticed.

And denmark is a very real presence in the war.

On the bigger point though, the reason why the Muslims are rioting is not really the cartoons, it's what we've done/are still doing in Iraq, like bombing wedding parties thinking it's a terrorist meetup, what we've done in Afghanistan, what we've supported/turned a blind eye to in Palestine, basically 50 years of fucked up foreign policy in the Middle East, that's why Muslims are pissed off with the West and flying planes into skyscrapers etc... these cartoons are just the latest spark
