One of my mates at uni went out to norway to work over the summer during uni. Tried not to spend much and came back totally flush, their wages reflect the higher cost of living. According to him you get a tenner an hour to clean the bogs.

Great place and it wasnt as expensive as I was expecting

some things are really expensive whereas other things are not that much more than expensive parts of Britain

My Dad lived in Bekastua about 20 minutes outside oslo Nroway is a beautiful place full of amazing views cleaner than anywhere the only crime tends to be grafiti which depending on how you look at it may not be a crime . It is very expensive about £3.50 for a can of coke and average of 5 quid a beer ! but the women are all gorgeous there is not one ugly bird ! its great in the summer ! Youl have a quality time ! get your self out on the fjords on a vivking longboat trip free beer and seafood ... I loved the place !

take a couple of bottles of whisky from duty free with you.

Couple of lads I know that went over there when Newcastle played, said it was the thing to do, as whisky is so expensive over there you can exchange the bottles for a canny bit of stuff you want.

    sounds worth it then.

Those lads said they had a cracking time in Oslo, but the booze was a bit pricey.

its slightly higher than the uk
but i still bank nearly 5k month

we have it worked out so that if we work too many hours in a month that would take us into the next tax bracket our agent sort of banks those extra hours and puts them thru when we are on holiday so we get some holiday pay so to speak. In norway they work out the higher tax on a monthly basis, one month you may have to pay higher tax and the next you dont, not like the uk where its worked out over the full year. Enough of my rambling !!!!

All i can say is the place is excellent, the wages are excellent and its quite easy to get to, and the norwegions are so laid back its so unreal.
