I think Si's right Joe. I just can't believe you posted that with the honest intention of wanting to know what car you should buy. And even if you did, do you really think you were directing the question at the right audience? How many people on here know (or care) which car manufacturers may or may not have been affiliated with nazism and/or jewish slave labour?

I'm also sceptical of the idea that you should boycott a company based on the actions and decisions of what can only have been a few top-level directors many decades ago. Doesn't your religion teach forgiveness?

I'm getting tired of defending my corner, I, like the majority of global jewry feel justified in not purchasing from car manufacturers that were intricitly involved in the holocaust.

Peter and a his pals turned it political/nasty/racist.... i was asking for genuine advice.

I lvoe how I'm painted in a negative light... I didn't go looking for trouble... with the exception of melt (where no malice is ever intended from my side & I'm pretty sure the same is true on his side) I don't banter with anyone these days.

You didn't ask for generic car advice per se, you asked for advice on car manufacturers that weren't nazi-affiliated, and again I can't believe you might think this forum's the best place to ask that.

You're right, it's irrelevant whether I agree or disagree with your actions in avoiding those companies, but you didn't answer my question of whether or not your religion teaches forgiveness?

The Jewish concept of forgiveness is that the person who has wronged must honestly and directly seek forgiveness from the person they have harmed.... Until this initial stage has been reached we are taught not to forgive.

In the case of the companies you mentioned, they tried to hide their past, avoid confrontation & project a false image of respectability... There was no of effort repentance on their half.

So no, in the case of VW Judaism teaches me not to forgive.
