True, but millions is one thing, £10 billion plus is a totally different situation. It would take years. They said the same about the Millenium Dome....look at it now

Also, it's gona cause a hell of a lot of disruption, with around 300 local businesses having to be moved.

It is good yes, but in my opinion the pros don't outweigh the cons.

A 'world clubbing olympics wouldnt' require £10 billion worth of clubs!

lol to be fair thats bullshit!

Its not a case of not being interested its the fact that the money could be spent better elsewhere imo

I'm not necessarily against the idea as I say, but it's not that important.

    Come on!!!!!

To the spend the money on other things brigade - you can't say that millenium bridge or the angel aren't better uses of cash than the NHS or whatever.....but it's totally revitalised the region, bringing new investment.

I think it's great we've won it, and even better that we've beaten the french :D :D :D

Taxi for Monsieur Chirac and his job please

yeh mate it could, i might sound like a knob here but i dont care, they obviously see importance in what they're doing aswell otherwise they wouldn't be doing it, yes health care is important but so is the facilities this will give people.

personally i think it is great news that we've won. in london we have one of the greatest cities in the world, and the extra investment it will now recieve will only further cement that.

    Ken Livingston will be delighted.

It should be held in Birmingham or Manchester though they would never have won it.
