sensationalism does have a lot to do with it, tabloids blow stories into massive events and stories are more likely to be heard + i think social changes have meant its easier for victims to approach authorities, even if the offence happened in the past...

i think balancing sensible parenting, like telling your kids when to be home and making sure they tell you where they're going, with a certain degree of caution is the way... you cant keep your kids wrapped in cotton wool just as you cant know where they are 24/7... all you can do is your best.

although i'm not a parent thats the kind of attitude i'd try to have, whether it's the right one i'll have to wait and see.

that is the thing to be fair, it's always been around since the dawn of time, and its not surprising it continued seeing as 15 year olds were pretty much married off back in the day to old sleazy rich men.



I've studied it a bit, its like a viscious circle, it can escalate through fantasy so the person could have weird dreams etc and it just goes from stage to stage to satisfy the fantasy once a little bit has been unravelled in a way.

it's totally mad!and its gross and awful and we think they treat their vicyims like animals (which they do) toatlly inhumane however as soon as people find out where they live they treat them inhumanely too so its a bit of a paradox.

I totally think prisons should be tighted up and not be like a holiday camp, and life should mean life. I don't think we should have their addresses but definitely think they should be monitored better and placed in areas away from any schools or anything.

It's like an addiction so removing the temptation can help in the rehabilitation of them. its not a mental illness it's the same type of thing like your bog standard no reason for doing it murderer, it fits into a fantasy.

well the bloke who raped my sister got 6 years and was freed within 2 years for good behaviour although he is on the sex offenders register for life pretty crap sentence imo

he isnt allowed back in our home town or surrounding areas but how can people keep an eye on him unless they watch him 24/7?
