It's no different to keeping a cat or dog locked up, or even a fish in a tank.

I would argue against keeping a cat or dog locked up. However, owning a cat or dog and letting the cat out, taking the dog for walks etc, is an entirely different matter. Plus when they are indoors they have a whole lot more freedom to move around than a parrot in a cage. There is also a difference with keeping fish, in that they are nowhere near as intelligent as a parrot, and the fish still get to swim around. Most parrot cages are so small the parrot can barely stretch its wings.

Are you calling my goldfish thick like?

True, but you can't say if one animal is less intelligent than another it makes it ok. I'm marginally more intelligent than a dog, does that mean I can treat it like shit?

I'd happily kill an insect and feel nothing whereas some people kick off if you do it.

I don't feel many emotions towards cats, I could watch one get killed and wouldn't be too fussed.

    I'm a bit wrong though!!
