    the sound of trance has evolved since 98/99, like all musical styles its lifecycle is coming to and end, and in its place you are seeing hard trance.
    i don't honestly think trance is being produced poorly these days though, just in much lesser quantities & differently. As the producers who once were producing that sound are concentrating on producing harder stuff, and there is some very good hard trance tracks being produced.
    And it seems to be what the majority of people i talk to want to listen to these days... i know some people disagree but eddie halliwell is a success, he is playing hard trance & filling clubs.

    i know i've rambled a bit here, but hope the point comes across. that trance sound is in the past... maybe they'll be playing it @ Retro nights in a few years time and we can all re-live how good it was :D
