it seems pretty apparent by the lack of responce to the police what people think and the law now seems to help the criminals than the victims

Obviously Ian feels passionatly about this as he has a young daughter and he dosen't want any harm to come to her, its understandable in a sense, some of the comments might seem a bit harsh but I do see his point

no! so if you murdered some1 cos they had done something to your child then do the parents of the person you killed not have the right to kill you if this was the situation?

from their point of view its not fair,no one should be able to play god, thats why i don't see death as a viable punishment, what about miscarridges of justice? what if it was the child that was mentally ill and made the whole thing up?

death is too absolute for it to be a fair punishment...

if some of the ideas said in this thread came to be laws then the population of the uk would be the royals and mr blair.
