Maybe so, but you are untouchable in that particular category.

    i agree 100%

id rather be with someone that not every liked to be honest, it makes them much more individual

my on/off girlfriend, while i think she is very attractive, might not appeal to everyone

but, she is incredibly intelligent, and because she is older than me, has done a lot with her life

which means so much more to me

Come on man you cant sterotype all fit women as being thick I know loads of fit ladies that are very very clever and successful in life.

Plus your saying then wherever 'fashion' goes you go so next year if its 'fashion' to fancy chubby birds you'll fancy them, now to me thats a bit weird mate if you fancy someone then you fancy them and thats the end of it IMO

Yeah intelligence is important as you get older and you realise your gonna have to actually commit to someone sometime so you dont want someone who cant hold a good conversation IMO.

I disagree with the 'in thing' though, I do understand where your coming from and I respect your opinion I just dont understand why you would think like that. Like I said before if you like something or someone then thats the end of it there should be no other factors.

He's illustrating the point that society influences what we find attractive.... 200 years ago plumper girls were considered the "in thing" so someone like Snack would be on the top of all our to do lists.

But times change and what you find physically attractive now wont be what you fancy 5 years from now.

Most people go through a fashion phase, its part of our rights of passage - but you'll get to an age or a time in your life when more sincere things dominate your mind and you'll look back on your "Dress Sense" threads like I do... with a great deal of embarrassment ;)

I know what he's doing I just have to disagree to a certain point because not everyone has the same opinion on the matter.

This is all sort of materialistic things whereas some people dont think like that some people actually believe in doing things for themselves and not because its the 'in thing' at the time and everyone else is doing it.

    no.

The more you focus on your aesthetical appearance and materialistic ambitions the more depressed you become as you're always striving for to improve yourself.

Take models, every girl I've met that works in the fashion industry is extremely unhappy about how she looks, she realises she's better looking than girls on the likes of nucastle.co.uk but she's aware of better looking girls in her industry.

I think were going off trick, I said further up the page im not on about materialistic things the things some people is for there own happyness not because its the 'in thing' to do.

The things I do I do for me not because I think everyone else will think im 'cool' because im up there with the Jones's. If I wanted to do that then I wouldnt be driving round in an old escort I'd have a flash car, I would be hitting on models because apparently its 'cool' to have a model as a girlfriend/wife and I'd be dressed in the best designer gear when I go out.

I do get where you 2 are coming from im just saying not everyone thinks and acts the same thats all :)

Outside of JessC I don't think anyone else on the board thinks youre up there with the jones' mate ;)

If youre doing something for acceptence, youre not doing it for yourself.... lets get that delusion out of the way to start with.

You've rejected hardcore for funky house, you seem to have a comprehensive understanding of fashion (or at least the fashion you subscribe to), it would at least appear from the outside that you are indeed trying to keep up with the jones'

You've told us that you dress so that your peers accept you... so I don't understand what all this "I'm different" talk is
