No one is questioning this Humans are social beings, we need to belong to a social group - many social groups are defined by their appearance. I dress the way i dress so that people will judge me in the light i want to percieved. This isn't what I'm debating, I'm suggesting that scoieties need to keep up with the latest trends isn't going produce a happy society. I respect the muslim philosphy of plain dress, theres no desire to wear the latest labels or spend £320 on a pair of trainers - clothes are merely functional garments to keep you warm/cool... Because at the end of the day what you wear is of no importance and giving it that much thought is a waste of your life. Trying to follow a fashion will only lead to frustration.
I've never seen you comment in own of the adult debate.... you're usually found in the more meaningful threads.
Grown up's thread is a bit OTT for what is basically just a bunch of kids posturing on the internet and trying to sound clever/meaningful.
I am mate aswell as bangning my head against a wall, this place is reminding me of similar experiences on another board
Why would I comment in a thread that is of no interest to me? At 18 why would I care about all the adult stuff you all talk about?
No they don't the Qur'an tells them that they are to dress modestly. Westernised third gens are hardly hardcore Which part of religion is unattainable? Man manages to make best of a bad situation and worst of a good situation, you'll find happy and sad people wherever you visit. I'm sure Tibetan monks have their fair share of grievances
I take these things to heart If I dont reach a conclusion that satisfys my needs then I wont sleep well tonight
as opposed to the kid who patronises those psuedo-intellects in an effort to elevate himself to a greater station
Like I said above mate lets agree to disagree and leave it at that! Im liking how this thread has evolved though from what it started out as
