Im not sticking up for Fat Sam but the timing of the whole thing is ridiculous. He should have at least been given a season. Who's gonna come in at this time of year? Who even wants the job?

We've been fucking tragic tho. I never wanted Allardyce & ive slated him many time's before he became boss - especially when he winged about Roeder not having the right qualifications. But he was in the job & should at least be given a chance.

Ive never understood this 4-3-3 formation he plays tho. No one looks comfortable in it. Even when Duff was out we still could of had the Zog on the left wing (his best position) & Chico at left back (cant understand why he's hardly played). Surely 4-4-2 is a formation that everyone is able to play without any problems.

Its like a fucking episode of Dream Team every week at St James’

Cos he's not a footballer's arsehole. I know players need time to adapt to our game but I can't see how that's an excuse for being unable to pass the ball 10 yards.

Agree that this has all come at a stupid time (which seems to be our trademark, nice to see fat Mike has continued fat Freddy's trends) but to be honest I'm not bothered that he's gone, and certainly not sad to see him go. After the FA Cup draw we got I'd say this season was a washout anyway.

I didn't like his style of football whatsoever, but we didn't give him anywhere near enough time to sort things out, we were in no way going to get relogated nor were we gonna finish anywhere near the top 4, so keeping him for a full season and letting him show us what he could do shouldn't have been a problem.

Once again we've embarressed ourselves by getting rid of a good manager and left ourselves im limbo, what decent manager in their right mind would take this job?

What's with wanting just a english manager? or was it just British? either way that leaves us with a handfull of candidates, none of which are as good as sam, none of which have won trophies, and all of which already in a stable job, well done toon

Hope its not Rednapp, imagine what shit he would get if he went 10 hours without scoring a goal at St James Park, pointless.
I think we should break the bank and go for someone top quality like Van Haal are Mourinho ....(hey i can always dream)

The football was definitely unwatchable - I've seen more fluid team play watching Hebburn FC on a Sunday morning!

The toon does, or currently does think above its station, but feel it is a team that will always be expected to be up at the top, even if we never are!

So do I, but he's ours!

He's done well here. To be honest I'm surprised Blackburn are still a decent mid table side considering the size of the club and the shadow Manchester casts over the rest of the north west.

Hes the best English manager there is and would do well for yous if you gave him 3 seasons or something

Portsmouth may only be a few places higher in the table but the group of players he has there are shit compared to yours on paper

Redknapp would be a far better appointment than Hughes.

People are only suggesting Hughes because there is noone else in England....Newcastle need to look further affield.

I will LOVE IT if they appoint Steve 'Only Tom Cruise has better teeth' McLaren
