my thoughts exactly. i like shindig but i would say at least 40% of the people who go they are they to try and look cool and have little interest in the music. u can tell as by 2am in shindig the club is always a lot emptier. loads of people who go to shindig would not go to promise just cos it's not cool 2 do so even if sander was on for example!
I think there are a few posers there but you can't deny it's got one of the best club atmosphere's in the country. As for people saying noone went to the prog nights at Promise, that might apply to most of the people on here who only started going when it was trance / hard house but there was still quite a big following. Promise was still quite busy then
i used to go to the prog nites at promise it was busier for the bigger name dj's i.e. sasha, nick warren. but to be honest it just about went out of business deffo no market for a weekly prog nite in newcastle. shindig does have a class atmosphere, but they are a lot of posers they deffo.
so does every big club night in every town/city believe it or not, there are people like me who go to shindig for the music, the atmos, and the fact its a fucking good club. not everyone who goes is a poser, and id say the majority of times ive been, its still been busy at the end admittedly there are those who go to show off their latest clothes, but its bollocks to suggest everyone is like that i love the club, and i go to get sweaty and see the djs i love i used to do that at promise, with dave seaman etc, but now its going harder, it doesnt appeal to me anymore, which is a shame cos it is a great club at the end of the day how much busier are the harder nights compared to the prog nights?
the harder nite's are busier than the average progs ones i would say. obviously sasha etc was much busier. i know that they are a lot people in shindig they 4 the music but it must be said a lot of people are just they 2 b seen.
yeah, thats true mate, a lot of people go cos its the place to be seen, im not disagreeing with that when i first started going to promise it was always busy, now they average 500 people a week it did seem to be busier in the past in my opinion, but then i dont go as much anymore cos i hate hard house
i first started going 2 promise in sept 2000 it use to much busier back then. i think it was cos the whole club scence was busier back then
mmm mmm this man is so beautiful he'd get it sooo badly am distraught that i cant go see him on sat, its ma mates wedding so cant boo hooo !! he's also te creator of the bestest tune in the world-my lexicon how class is that tune...??!! xxx
my lexicon is a sweet tune! as is venus and mars, his remix of scorchio, his mix of helsinki the man is a legend, i cannot wait to hear him!!
would go 2 promise if they put good dj's on, instead of all the trance shite. promise used 2 be class when they had the likes of lee burridge and craig richards on..
if u like that sort of music than it must have being class 4u. the fact is promise could not have stayed in business if it continued putting those djs on.
Haven't read the whole thread, so forgive me if I repeat anything His GU NuBreed album is amazing, best of the NuBreec's imo - yes *even* better than Satoshi's! He's doing the Essential Mix in a couple of weeks which no doubt will be amazing!
Is he on 12-3 with Scott warming up, does anybody know?!!! Not seen him before now going to see him two days in a row
