was a shame when the Orbit closed, was just about the only place you could get to see such DJ's without having to go to Brum for Atomic Jam or Glasgow for Pressure.

    The Surgeon was sheer

I reckon he's getting better. Used to love his driving prog trance sets then he went a bit dull but the last few times I've seen him he's been class. Definetly got a new style these days

Was boring last few times I seen him, was at the Involver do he done at Shindig for a while...was very flat for a long time, took him ages to get the place going.

He played gash @ Space I was told, also had a word with JZ for his techy tricks and out shining him.

Not hard all you have to do is smile :D

From what ive heard about Ableton, its not quite ready to replace CD's - You have to use raw audio files and spend a while setting markers every 16/32 beats on it to do all the beatmatching/warping stuff on it.... Which essentially means all your tunes and stuff need to be pre-prepared before you use it...

When i get my powerbook ill give it a whirl, although i came from using pc software to using CD's and Mixers to get the tactile feel back of playing around with music - it doesnt feel the same with a monitor and mouse/controller... YET.

Really cool tool though - should be great alongside a regular cd/vinyl setup.

Depends who you talk too, from accounts on ibiza-spotlight he had an amazing summer in Ibiza this year. His pacha and space gigs went down a storm.

    I agree with Tomas.

Team electro slag him yet forget that most of them were playing Tiesto and Ferry Corsten trance until there balls dropped and they agreed electro was now cool and everything else isn't.

I saw him at Pacha and on Space Terrace and he was brilliant at both. Had the crowd going nuts at both

My mate was at space at the start of Sept and he played with Zabiela on the terrace for 3hrs as a bonus and then in the backroom for his scheduled set.

Yeah thats the 1 I was at. Was good seeing them playing different tunes on the terrace to what they normally do. Didn't catch much of the inside set

Yeah totally. Ableton is easy to use, but there a loads of possibilities that 99% of people who claim to be using it don't exploit.

Same things as conventional DJ'ing innit. Any muppet can play a record, then another record, etc etc etc, but only a few do something out the ordinary and use the gear to its full potential.
