its not killing dancemusic at all mate

i just find it cringeworthy that someone bums themselves so much that they perform antics like that....he is playing other peoples records to a room of drugged up people. If he had performed all his own songs live then I would let him off

Jealous of the skills or the fame or his toned physique???

if its the skills then just get yourself a CDJ, an 'aaaaah' loop and a Trans effect and YOU TOO can do all that ;)

If its for the fame then yeah you are probably right

If its the physique then you are definitely right

stage diving - a crock of shite - definately.

10min self indulgent reverb'd/looped/spinback/bag o' shite CDJ thing - tired and boring.

BUT the skinny little elf is obviously loving the energy and that shows - which the crowd like too! Some peope like to see the DJ joining in and having fun instead of fiddling and farting around poe-faced behind the decks.... i was waiting for you to stand on the DJ booth on fri.... no such look... i went away feeling like i was robbed :(

Well i agree with both the MOS camps and the SI Quick fundamentalist camp :)

On one hand the guy is incredibly quick when it comes to pitching, cueing and mixing tunes together and after watching him a few times both at promise and on a few videos online its clear that he has some serious talent. I listen to his residency mix when im at the gym, from a few months back and its an example of eddie when he's at his absolute best when it comes to 'firing' up an atmosphere.

BUT, its squandered on a load of fisher price cheese music alot of the time and theres moments where you just listen to a few minutes and think "oh no not this again" - and after watching a few james zabelia video's and the like, its obvious that he's just using the trans effect on a cdj loop of a scratch sound which (even though its perfectly timed) aint that complex to do.

He's a great showman thats for sure - but to some extent he represents alot of whats bad about clubland and alot of its transitory, closed minded clubbers.

Like the music or not, there is absolutely no comparison between the skills in that video and what Zabiela is doing while he is playing

Im not saying he's as good as zabs - im just saying the trick he does at the start of the video is just exactly what zabelia shows you how to do on those 'alive' video's you sent me a while ago .... and just a stripped back version of those aswell that the onboard efx can do on the djm600

you can teach yourself how to do that Halliwell stuff in about 25 seconds, its the first thing you try when you get an efx box

Saying that, he must be doing something right or he wouldnt be bummed so much

Every new injection of clubbers needs a variation of 'judge jules' to latch on to. Eddie is/was the right man at the right time for that.

Eventually people will get bored of the fact that his sets are more of a 2 hour endurance match, than something you can look back on with fond memories.

He's a bit of fun now and again.
