Theres too many factors that the government arent in control of - if they were in control, then they wouldnt have let houses triple in price (which they promised in 1997 they wouldnt let happen).

The bank of england is putting interest rates up this year, and people groan each time wondering why they are being punished.... when its not the government doing it, its the bank trying to control inflation (badly).

It just takes a few things to happen and it all comes crashing down - then people will realise those 'trendy' flats are the ghettos for the next generation ;)

Bad crack about your house though - although its a good thing your survey turned that one up eh, one of those moments where they are worth the money spent on them!

We got me mates dad to do a survey for free without us receiving all the paperwork. He told us that it needs the front wall replacing and damp coursing. We then let the mortgage valuer go out because it was already booked in, he went and he didn't even bother valueing it because it was that bad. So he didn't charge us. With us having no proof (paperwork) to tell the owner this, halifax can't go back to him to tell him to drop the price. We'd need a structural engineer to check it, costing us money with no guarantees he'll drop the price. So we pulled out.

That could of been a very bad financial move.

He's either bodged the front wall himself or got a mate to do it. It's saved him a bit of money but now it has probably cost him 15k.

800 quid a month here for a 2 bedroom apartment, a few streets away from where Gary Lineker lives, and bruce forsythe (sp) lives just down the road ;)

.... the mortgage would be 2 grand a month odd if we wanted to buy it. Sod that ;)
