exactly, there's only a few hundred people who would ever read this board and would know of the turmoil - people will still turn up at digital no matter what

however, it's most exciting thing on this board in months

The sound system and the lights behind the dj booth were about the only things i liked about that club .... everything else was pretty much bunk.

your are pretty limited to what you can do with a square box though arent you?
for me the most important thing in a venue is the sound system...its is the music that we go to listen to after all
put a decent soundsytem pretty much any where and im happy (aslong as your playing decent music through it of course :) )

scott, any idea if this is going to be permanent, or whether it will be business as usual next week?

or is that largely dependent on digital's management? :)

Hang on, surely digital's management are shitting themselves at having an empty club on friday and saturday, which was the point of all these nights leaving.

    They'll be back.

The only place you could ever stand without getting shoved about, was if you had something solid behind you - for everyone else it was a total crowd fest.

... I never really appreciated what made a BAD layout, until i went into digital. Never really felt i could be in one spot all night and just enjoy myself.... it felt far too much like a large empty room with music playing in it, as opposed to a club.

WHQ, The Other Rooms, Cosmic, Foundation ..... all feel completely different. Digital just felt big and unfriendly..... which is strange cause ive been in bigger clubs that just arent so bad.

It was a victim of its own layout i think (in part).

its pretty much permanent im afraid.
i cant see a way back now
its a shame as i really liked the venue (yes more than foundation .... shock horror) there were a few changes i would have made to improve it though but im not going to go into that now as its pointless
onward and upward as they say

    "No comment"

Be perfectly honest i think Evolves pretty much Digital's night and they asked Rich to "front" if you like, so i cant see any change there.

I'm not so sure - look what happened to foundation when this lot upped sticks and left...

it's a bit different this time as they've not got a purpose built club across town to move to (have they?) and the owners should still be cash rich I'd have thought unlike ponana who were already on the verge of going tits up...

btw does this mean melt was right?

I was working across from Digital last night until 1am, and from what I could see, only a handfull of people were turning up for their 'new thursday night'.
I drove past the Ballroom after 1, and it was absolutely rammed!! So word got around mighty quick for StoneLove, so people that are genuinly passionate about their music will follow the nights rather than the club, but I still think Digital will continue to pull a crowd at weekends (be it a Chava crowd), because it's the biggest club...McDigital!

Sorry to sound really selfish, but im over the moon with this. It has made my day :cool2:

We will all follow Shindig wherever it goes and the thought of yet another new chapter is really exciting.

Was never a massive fan of Digital and im sure everything will turn out wicked in the end. Stereo will be heaving on saturday and the atmosphere will be amazing. Cant wait to find out whats going to happen on a permanent basis. :groovy:

lets just hope the next place is big enough to pay for the lineup's everyone is used to - even though digital was big and clinical, it did have its plus points - bigger capacity pays for bigger djs

    good luck lads

Good point. I would agree with that. Suppose it came with the territory. Exciting times ahead though. Heres to a future that is not digital (Im aware how bad that sounded :D  )

this has been a good read just now this thread, and quite funny reading the speculation of where we wil end up..

truth be told right now I dunno.. theres ideas but thats about it and we have a week to put them into actions.. I'm sure we will do it..

one thing I would say is it's nice to read a lot of supportive messages.. even from Mr Gary Proud!! :):) cheers..

tell you what though this has got me buzzing again, as todays events have shown me this defo the little fish (as it were) against the corporate beast now.. I'm fucking sure melt has ESP.. ask him what the lottery numbers are for fucks sake
