You weren't shy in approaching me but probably cause you were comfortable in those surroundings, in your crowd of mates and I was blazing drunk. :D

Is this to do with your job search Lee?? Everyone get's down when things are not going quite the way they planned.

Stick in and be yourself, the right opportunity will come along.

Good job there is peeps like you in the world otherwise ne1 would talk to each other,

its trure thou some peeps care what other peeps think and that makes them shy and have no confidence, I care but only to a certain extent!

Shyness is a direct result of lack of self confidence is social situations.

if enough people tell you that you are lush, you start to believe them, and you start to begin to think it yourself.

better to be shy and quietly confident, than an egotystical wanker who talks nowt but shit and look down their noses at you.

I'd describe myself as your average boy next door, nowt special, nowt offensive:D . Everyone's mam thinks I am great, but their daughters no only too well that I just tell them mams what they want to hear.

how do i try to say this without sounding like the 'egotysical wanker' that i have grown to hate... I used to be really shy and it took me ages to sort myself out, but when you do you'll think its great.

I just think you'll grow out of it, like many people.

not necessarily tho!!! im not shy in the bloody slightest but am not that confident even tho i mebz appear that i am!! i'm honestly the most paranoid person in the whole wide world it duz ma head in so so much dunno whether its due to my excessive drug taking in my younger years lol or whether i'd hav bin like this anyways but i wudnt say that shyness is directly linked to self confidence although i s'pose in lots of situations it can be!! i wudnt necessarily say shyness was a bad thing at all its just ur personality lee, i think just cos clubbing attracts loads of extrovert people that are dead loud and all ra ra ra its makin ya feel as if bin shys a problem but i totally dont think it is, although if its gettin ya down then obviously it is a problem!! aaww i dunno reeli its a tricky one aint it....aw hope ya feel betta about it soon but if i were u i wudnt necessarily look up on it as bin a bad thing!! xxx

I tried telling him this, that being shy does not have to be looked upon as a bad thing, but he disagrees:(

Yes but if you told some non-religious scientist that there's no such thing as evolution and that the world was created by God would he just go "Oh ok!" and believe you? No.

....stupid way to start my post :D

What I'm getting at is that for us REALLY shy people (a lot of you are going..."I'm shy but I just talk to people anyway!" - SO YOU'RE NOT SHY!!! It's like just a physical thing that just stops us from talking to people because we're scared we'll make a fool of ourselves) anyway..sorry...moving off the topic kinda.

For us shy people you might say that it's not a "bad thing" to be shy, and it isn't, but it seems the more confident people have more fun in life! It's true...it's all been proven by what we've seen (like the scientists I mentioned above!)...lasses love confident lads who can have a normal conversation and not be shitting themselves cos they don't know what to say. Generally if you're outgoing and not too annoyingly confident, people will like you and want to be your friend.

Fine, not always. I know it's not nice to say what I've just said but I'm sure geordielee will agree with what I'm saying. For us who are shy it's just how life seems to be. Confident people have more fun.

    "Just my 2 cents" :)

Im not shy at all but i have nee banter at all when it comes to lasses or trying to get the crack on with them, i dont think i have tried to chat up many to be honest - probs why im single !

When i was off work with depression & stress me self confidence just went to bits, i couldnt even look people in the eyes when talking to them or anything :( :(

Some people have just got the gift of the gab really, if you can make someone laugh then your halfway there really :D
