I lost £500 out my account a few months ago, apparently there'd been some kind of scanner attached to a cash point i had used. Got it all back in under a week though, i'm with co-op bank.

Pretty much every bank should refund the money. The all have it in their policies that they'll shoulder the burden of identity fraud. Might take longer with some than with others, but they should all refund it.

thats a load of balls screech!

if you EVER suffer from fraud like this you will get the money back.

all of these adverts of "internet fraud protection for free" are a load of tripe - its just a way to get more customers. you get that protection anyway.

Happened to one of my mates and he got shafted :spangled:

Oh well, that's good news like.

Still - how do they manage it with just a card number!

    Some info

"Under UK banking law, if you contact your bank and say "I have not made this transaction", your bank has a duty of care to make a charge back against the company and refund you. The said firm has 30 days to provide proof/evidence that it was yourself who ordered/signed for product etc - the company is charged and you are refunded should insufficent evidence be available.

Please note that you have to contact the firm directly in the first instance as companies have 30 days to ammend errors and refund you by law."

This is correct - I've had to deal with sending off information regarding chargeback requests at work. By the time the request filters its way down to our level we've usually got less than a few days to send the stuff off.
