    Switch stuff
    Simian
    Erol Alkan remixes

    etc etc etc

if you dont think that is dance music then you need to get your head out Paul Van Planks arse and get with it

    Smile was mint.

The music wasn't too bad tbh, the house classics thing seemed to work really well.

It went down the pan when the backroom hip-hop DJ got put on in the main room, because it became just like every other club in newcastle on a monday... playing rnb with dirt cheap drinks, except much further off the beaten track.

Thats a really silly comment. Do people suddenly lack the ability to Understand to it? i think not!
Everything has to start somewhere! and with the big fuckin shake down in leeds with all the drugs and one of the biggest clubs being shut for a while it worth a go.
If it picks up a decent following (granted it may take a while) then the possibility of moving to a weekend would be more likely.
The majority of it will be techno, little trance and a little electro.
As Gib said, theres nothing really for that market. Theres one trance night which is once a month. Theres no harder edged techno, mainly minimal.
But thanks for the opinions, always good to hear!

I hate to put a downer on your dream but its the truth...Ive been to enough and played at enough to know it doesnt work on a Monday/Tuesday. Vocal house music is about the only dance music that would have a chance of working....people who like dance music generally go out on a weekend and get fucked (dont bother denying it because its true) so the last thing they want to do is to go and listen to loud fast music during their blue moments!

Look through all the national listings and youll find a tiny amount of dance nights on a Monday/Tuesday....even if you do they will mostly be gay nights because of the nature of that scene.

You'd be better off doing a few one off events (like bank holiday all dayers etc) and building it up from there.

i agree with what your saying mate, and starting up a night on monday is big risk, hence the questions. but i know if one started up, and was decent enough, people would go. twisted logic was on a wednesday and did ok. Its all about location, location, location lol
I dont think im going start it on the monday anyway. Probably will start with the one off.

yeah definitely go for the one off

im seriously not having a go for the sake of it but ive seen them fail all over the shop

its much better to do a couple of random quality events than loads of below average ones
