I think you need to research the market

there aint this kind of night on a monday / tuesday but the majority (not saying all) of the tehcno followers are your 20's -30's crowd who like getting bolloxed on a friday sat and sun - the weekend

a lot of them are in well paid jobs or decent paid jobs and cut loose on the weekend but they dont tend to party early or mid week - they are recovering from the week before

nights playing techno include the likes of freaky dancing, detox, backlash , error and they all run on either a friday or a saturday

good luck in your ventures but IT will really struggle on a monday or tuesday unless the drinks offers or fucking hellish cheap . i am talking a quid or quid 50 a pint or bottle and if its digital affiliated the drinks will be anything but cheap

but good luck to you mate , personally you want to target the student cross over crowd, but make the night as eclectic as possible

driving techno wont cut it on a monday / tuesday in town

believe me countless have tried and failed

erm superconductor regularly out bang us, Joy just had beltram on in may...

anyway advice, don't do it unless you've got a fair few hundred quid you'r willing to burn and loads of time on your hands, but if you have to scratch the itch try and find a good small (200-250 cap max) venue that you can get on a thursday night once a month or so and build your crowd up from there, weekly's virtually impossible to sustain even if you've got a decent following to start with and you never get time to catch up with yourself etc.

If you do get a venue for thursdays in leeds and happened to get the last thursday of the month and wanted some name techno guests for cheap rates give me a shout as we could maybe partner up coz we do the last friday of the month up here...

I used to run a weekly event on a tuesday at infusion in sunderland a few years ago with up and coming local djs playing prog and trance.

started off really well as there were loads of students came for the first month or so but soon as they went back fior the summer the numbers dropped rappidly.

was a good experience while it lasted but its so much hard work doing a weekly event especially midweek.

Just recently finished promoting a night at the voodoo rooms aswell, only thing was it was on a sunday. had some mint nights in there while it lasted but the nubers where up and down all the time. was no consistency.

bag a weekend if you can mate, week nights are too stressful if your juggling it with other commitments.
