    Re: Sudden weight loss????

Us weightlifters know what we are talking about on this subject, because it's very important to the sport.

Basically, the only way you will lose weight, is if you use more calories than you use. These calories can come in the form of protein, alcohol, fat, or carbs.

Either you have changed the rate at which you use energy in your cells ( drugs, hormone changes, being awake longer, excercise ), or you have changed your input.

You say you have not changed the former, therefore your body must be burning more calories.

    The question becomes why.

Could be activity, etc. You say it isnt; that narrows it down to a basic metabolic rate change.

As for why? Too many possible reasons, as likely as not you are eating a food which metabolises to adrenaline or another hormone, that is making your body burn the energy faster, or maybe you have taken a sheet off your bed at night, making the body metabolise more sugar to keep your cells warm?

The bottom line is, unless it continues or other symptoms show up, just be pleased and don't worry, unless it puts you underweight.

    :)

    only if you shiver...

isometric contraction of the muscle - no energy is used for movement an therefore more heat is produced.
