Im basically saying he could of played for both of them, i should of said he speaks Australian and no doubt Italian too, when he's been interviewed on Sky n the likes he's always spoke Australian.

I still didnt get an answer to Stokes, just because someone speaks the language or was born in a country automatically means they have to play for that said country?

i didn't realise living in a country for a few years as a kid made you eligible to play for that country?? i thought you would have said how he became eligible, given a visa or something.

Anthony Stokes, Born July 25, 1988, Dublin,Republic of Ireland. Irish youth international, so can he still play for england? not sure

Am sure Ryan Giggs played for England Schoolboys or summit and then went to play for Wales senior team?

Summit like that anyways, i know the rules changed as well for family members or something cos it was getting daft?

newcastle want curtis davies for £9 million plus titus bramble... not sure how good davies is, but getting rid of bramble in the process could be good business in the long run.

Noo.. we need proven, experienced defenders.. we seem determined to keep a back 4 with an average age of about 21 when in reality the young lads need at least one experienced defender to learn from, otherwise they won't cut the silly mistakes out of their game (like Bramble hasn't).

i agree, you cannot just buy a team of young highly rated youngsters, you need at least one 'gaffer' in there to marshall them and give them a good kick up the arse from time to time, bear in mind bramble as a youngun was rated by all the top managers, maybe with better guidance and someone to learn from he might have fulfilled that potential?

i really dont like the idea of signing some young lad for 9 million quid and watching the same thing happen.

absolutely. - he would have snapped our bloody hands off if we had went in for him.

I remember roeder saying that he didnt want him as he was too old..

ha, aye tell the portsmouth fans that.

Apparently we're in for Oguchi Oneywu, either buying him for £2.1m or getting him on loan for the rest of the season.

Also read we're interested in a couple of strikers: Piquionne on loan from St Etienne, and Babel for £5m from Ajax.

Don't really know much about any of these three, anyone know if they're much cop?

Keane has bought some quality players since he took charge, but what in gods name is he buying Stern John for....?

when i worked in Gran Canaria i remember newcastle playing birmingham in some foreign cup and Stern John missed an open goal from 2 yards out . I really don't know why we need strikers anyway, Connolly is banging them in, i'd imagine stokes will score a fair few in the championship and we have elliott and murphy on the bench.

Oneywu looks likely as a loaner: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/n/newcastle_united/6310085.stm

Although this makes it sound permanent: http://www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10278~972130,00.html ???

606 gossip: Mr_stewart is "99% certain" he saw Chelsea's Shaun Wright-Phillips at St James' Park with Newcastle coach Terry McDermott. It is busy on Tyneside because there is some real 606 heat building up behind Ajax's Ryan Babel joining the Magpies. The Dutch forward has been spotted with Glenn Roeder by T_Toon.

606 gossip: A Newcastle special. Ajax's Ryan Babel is definitely on Tyneside along with Shaun Wright-Phillips, according to ButtsButt. If the Magpies land Chelsea winger Wright-Phillips former Chelsea winger Damien Duff will be going to Everton, according to ParkLane11. This is cracking stuff, but do not get too over-excited. Warriorfiggy7 says Dutch sources are saying Glenn Roeder has failed to persuade Babel to join.

Right, this is no way a dig at the toon but i am interested to know geordies thoughts on the lack of money spent in the transfer window? Results seem to be going your way apart from the fa cup defeat and you's are now in the top half . I just don't understand how a club the size of newcastle cannot spend a single penny on strenghtening their side. Is there no money to spend ? Can you's no longer temp the players you once could ?

I think the fact is Roeder doesnt wanna wax millions on someone abroad when he's seen and the whole of Newcastle's seen what happens when they fuck up? The list is endless.

Lets face it Upson isnt worth 7/8 million and there was no one else so really getting someone on loan is probably a good thing cos if there shit we dont need to keep them?

I cant think of anyone decent ish who isnt happy at there club and would come here / is available?

Gurn John looks like he will do a job for Sunderland, probably light up that stadium as much as Shite Yorke has??
