My foray into promotion fell flat on its face because I pulled out... there's no money in newcastle clubbing - you can't even afford a bath - nevermind extracting a decent wage from detox... even if you sold 400 tickets at £10, that's £4000 - less dj fees, promotional costs, potential venue costs and yours and statics wage - you're probably earning less than the average mcdonalds employ.

    no.

Much as I am loathe to stick up for Melt, haven't you guys got anything better to do than provoke him all day?

I'm loathe to stick up for him as i could imagine people jumping up and saying i fancy him.

And yes I have been to a few of the raves. I'm no soap dodger though.

snack leave the sad little men to their sad lttle world

i'm nee oil pointing , far from it

but have you seen how ugly these bozos are, thats why they resort to keyboard warrioring

so joe freely admits he pulled out of somehtingcos he was only in it for the money

melt and / or static dont need to draw a wage from it cos they both have very well paid day jobs

and run the detox thing as a sideline for a laugh

it was started off the back off a 21st birthday you bozo

end of the day tho its promoted a hell of a lot better than most of the "pretenders" with no staying power who have fallen by the wayside in recent times

joe likes to think he is some kind of someone in newcastle when really he is no better than the central character in life of brian

given the choice between jumping about like a lunatic with crazy jimmy on the dancefoor or talking relgious guff with joe , i would choose the dancefloor everytime

maybe joe should give himself a shake sometime and remind himself that this is after all a clubbing message board

i suggest you all put him on your ignore list

that would offend him a lot more

    :)

lol I love it when two bit bedroom promoters claim they're doing it for love not money.

Good luck with the day job though, you'll need it ;)

Hm. I can see this is going to be a long debate.

If they were in it for the money why organise Detox and give all the proceeds to charity?

Or ensure that bar prices are as cheap as poss.

I know you're only doing this for a laugh Joe to wind him up.... but can't you give it a rest??

you know nowt about money in money out

thankfully we were raised to appreciate things in life other than cold hard cash

and everytimeyou refer to people who come to detox as soap dodgers you not only display your ignorance but lack of knowledge regarding a night youve never been to

so 2 bit eh , that i am constantly being rangup and emailed regarding taking djs some other local nights could only dream of booking

you contradict yoursel in every thread

you have a go at us inplying we do it for the money not the love then freely admit your one bash at it failed miserably from a financial viewpoint

if we were hameahoraging money how would we still be able to do it 6 years down the line

YOUR ONLY AIM is to cause grief on here, in order to entertain your sad little life

didnt you used to go to promise, i think so , so who is the fool, you for supplying the deaks with a nice little nest egg to retire on , cos he fleeced you lot for several years

lol you can't help but have a pop at deaks... blatantly jealous that promise achieved things detox never will.... you're quite sad really aren't you melt :D

If you've got a problem with me, grief me... mark deakin has nothing to do with this.

I never said you nights losing money... I said you're not making any!

Ha ha ha - I remember I looked this up last year out of interest.

It's some primordial instinct to do with food - e / coke makes you do repetitive stuff, and the amphetamine stimulates some part of the brain making you think you've eaten.

I can't remember exactly, but when you give rats/mice Coke and E, they start gurning too

it meant detox pay their way

there are other much more financially successful nights which got "free" advertising in return for giving the previous admin free entry to their nights,
