He probably means they are both in a postion where they could probably make a lot more money by going slightly more commercial but choose not to
Ah, I see ... normally people have a go on here at shindig: and the people who go. Slightly off topic but I read a post by Mark this week which I thought was spot on in reference to the Promise / Dave Pearce bashing : "people like ibizarules ruin dancemusic by being eletist , it was and always will be about people of any race, gender whatever getting together to dance ." I think this more than applies to the constant bashing of the folk who attend shindig:.
i dont bash shindig at all, although i do notice when your on the dance floor havin a good time in promise and you look round smile at people and they smile back, the crowd are generally lovin it... at shindig, you do the same and you get looked up and down.. scowled at or no reaction.. this isnt the rule but its one thing that has struck me about shindig in particular and i used to go to there more than i did promise...
The most competitive, pretentious and unfriendly nights in Newcastle are the horrible monkey nights (Stonelove, Bulletproof). Shitty, horrible nights that I really dont like going to. *thread hijacked*
I think this is a myth. I'm terrible for speaking to randoms and strangers in clubs and I've came home with more phone numbers and made more arrangements with total randoms from shindig: than anywhere else.
I think the fact that this messageboard exists means that more people know each other in Promise ie appears more friendly (keep the comments coming people, this is related to my dissertation)
That's a fair point. If there was a shindig: board the same bashing of Promise/trance would probably go on. I think Marks comment is easily forgotten. That's the problem.
Re: Re: Re: To anyone whos seen sasha? was good crack!!.. but the music did nothing for me and i cant stand shindig @ the best of times never mind @ sweatpit capacity
Why? Do you go there with an attitude? We all go to stonelove and never have any bother? Upstairs in Stonelove is realy freindly?
