as do you! i was getting goosebumps thinking of velvet morning, im gonna have to listen to it later! do you have richard ashcrofts albums, alone with everybody and human conditions? my favourite solo track of his is crazy world, such a good track but space and time is wicked as well, god i wish they didnt split!
i have his 1st album & mite get the 2nd one soon!!! i really do wish they hadn't split!! (i bet u any money i go home 2nite & listen to the verve!! )
There are four verve albums! A storm in heaven Northern Soul Urban Hymns And.... No Come Down (B-Sides & Outtakes) Got some great acoustic and live versions on it. Agree tho all are class.
I picked it up in HMV bout 3 years ago. Its got a pinball machine on the cover and the code is CDHUT 18. Hope that helps ya
'History' off this album is my fav by miles... haunting and atmospheric... my top 5: Guns n' Roses - Appetite for destruction The Prodigy - Experience Paul Oakenfold - Perfecto Fluoro (can't believe no-ones mentioned this!!) House of Pain - House of Pain Rage against the machine - Rage against the machine
quite possibly the biggest pile of overhyped "prog gone wrong" shite ever to be released... Northern Exposure - Sasha and Digweed Chemical Brothers - Exit Planet Dust Essential Mix Volume One - Oakenfold / Cox / Tong / Sasha Way out West - Way out West Logical Proggression Vol.1 - LTJ Bukem non dance> Anything by Stevie Wonder Anything by The Smiths REM - Green Manics - Gold Against the Soul New Order - Substance would have put Blue States - Nothing Changes Under the Sun
Nah there are still 3 technically. They only recorded 3 studio albums. No come down is in effect a compilation album, which was put together for the American market, where the first few singles werent realeased. So they put a remix of one, a live version of another and some b-sides on to an album and called it "No Come Down". Incidentally, the live version of Gravity Grave on that is simply stunning.
Yep i know....but tis still an album! Plus cud get really pedantic bout this cos the verve only recorded 2 studio albums Totally agree with ya bout gravity grave, also where the geese go is mint
oasis - whats the story the verve - urban hymns chilli peppers - californication dre - chronic 2nd last chems one
Is everyone on here an Inide lover? Come on, someone must have a bit of originality. No offence to anyone but it's a bit samey ain't it?:spangled:
I meant that in general ppl are going on about the Verve etc and also how everything ppl have mentioned is pretty much the popular end of things. All I mean really is that no-one has really mentioned anything out of the ordinary. I'm surprised ppl don't have more original tastes.
yeh but without coming across as stuck up, if i mentioned half the stuff ive got that is really good most peeps prob wouldnt have even heard off so theres no point putting it in if no one knows what it is! fila brazillia are absoloutley class but i bet less than 10 people on this board have have heard of them, let alone any of their stuff.. but at the end of the day you shouldn't let your taste be affected by whats popular or underground - i liked sugarbabes last single and I couldnt give a flying fuck if its considered uncool, unoriginal, shit or populist. The image of what im listening to doesn't bother me... if i like it, i like it - end of.
Fila Brazillia are fuckin good! I'm not saying tastes should be affected by whether it's popular or not, I'm simply surprised that on a msg board with a lot of members that it doesn't seem that many ppl are into less popular, more underground music. I listen to the Smiths, Reef, stuff that's more popular, but I thought ppl may mention lesser known bands.
