Surely its just dependent on the personality of the recruiter/interviewer.

I had to interview for a work placement position and the one with probably the weakest cv and supporting statement got the job because she was the one who i felt would fit into the office environment the best. Who wants to work with some gobby knowitall? Give me someone who is willing to learn, work hard and has good ideas everytime

You can train any semi intelligent person to follow policies/procedures but you cant train someone to have a certain type of personality

that is the world as it is. I did just the same. If you are going to have to work with these people then you need to know you can get on with them. (although I tended to not pick the really hot ones knowing that I would be putty in their hands :D )

Gowansy is working at a computer game shop, at the moment, inbetween uni years. He says loads of weirdos come in trying to get a job. On there CV's under interests it says stuff like "My only hobby is computer games, I play them all the time". :dunce:

Most companies don't even read all that bollocks anyway unless it's for jobs like the police and what not. People applying for factory or call centre jobs could write anything in them spaces and they'd still get called in for an interview.

The people that work there are shocking like. Some kid came in with his CV, handed it over the counter, the lad who works there then crumpled it up infront of him and threw it across the room.

There's also this 20 odd year old man who is bang into his resident evil games. Whenever he comes in and asks for a game, they say to him "I'll only get it for you if you pull ya best zombie face". The man then pulls a horrible twisted face and feels no shame at all.
