    I do it a bit for words like gud etc. It can get a bit annoying if its done too much tho.

    I sometimes do it beacuse i text so much on my mobile (cheap work phone and all that) and dont even realise i'm doing it half the time!!

    its easier to phone people but that aint always possible

    yeah, but it doesn't make it easier to read. don't u remember that thing on the board a few months back, about a sentance where the words had all their letters mixed up, but because the first and last letters were correct - u could still read them? it's how the brain works, it recognises words by their size and begining/end letters, so u don't have to read the whole word. shortening them/changing them makes it HARDER to read because each word has to be fully READ - i.e. more work for your eyes & brain i.e. eye strain/headaches & glasses earlier in life.

    it's bad for our healths - talk about passive smoking - I WANT A BAN ON TEXT TYPE!
