    he cheated.

    he lies to your face.

    you don't trust him.

he deals with problems/issues by going out an getting twatted.

sounds like a great relationship and the perfect enviroment to bring a kid up in

I still reckon most normal people would get a bit pissed off wether they loved her or not. I reckon just ask him what he gets upto when he goes off, if he says he just needs some space every once in a while accept it. And if it turns out he was lying and playing away then ditch him. Either you trust him n take a chance or end it all together, theres no middle ground.

i appreciate ur comments its not in our generation for young people to work at a relationship and thats the reason why we have loads of single mothers coz its too much hard work to work at summit and just easier to fuck it!! thats why "KIDS" shouldn't have kids!!

i know you are only by goin from what i said but u all paint him to be typical bloke, but if anything he's the opposite which is why its so hard for trust to rebuild coz we were like the happy married fairy tale couple for 2 and half yrs and then he hurt me so much and i didnt even see it comin b4 then i trusted him 110%, which is why i find it hard to trust him...

Once is too many times. If you took him back after cheating I don't think you'll ever trust him again.

You're better off without a shit bag who's gonna cheat and can find someone who'll treat you with respect instead.

I don't think you should try to make a relationship work with someone who's strayed. He doesn't deserve the effort and he certianly wasn't making any effort went he went off with someone else

Fair enough you've got a kid, but trying to make it work cos you've got a kid is wrong imo. Would you rather be miserable with a bloke you don't trust for the rest of your life or try and find someone better?

I've been stuck in a miserable relationship a couple of times and only afterwards realised how bad it was and how much better I'd be without them. Time has proved there was someone better waiting for me :D

yeah but you dont have a child.

lol anyone that asks for serious advice on nucastle deserves the retarded answers they'll get...

There's a child involved, dont break up with him because of a hunch... as he has a history you'd be entitled to confront him and ask, get a mate to set him up, ask his friends, whatever.... just don't break up with him because amyblah says "once a cheater always a cheater".

If I did have a child my opinion would be the same. If I had a kid and found out my boyfriend has been unfaithful I wouldn't stay with him for the sake of the kid. I'd get out of it for both our sakes. Making your life miserable by staying with someone like that is not the right thing to do, regardless of whether or not there's a family involved

I'm working on keeping my '(she's not my) girlfriend' at this level at the minute but it doesn't seem to be sinking in.. this seems to pretty much sum up my attitude towards it all..

I THINK YOUR BOYFRIEND HAS BECOME TIRED OF HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU AND HAS SOUGHT MALE ATTENTION IN ORDER TO "get his rocks" OFF AS IT WHERE.

i don't have any intensions of breakin up with him, i know that what we've got and what we've managed to bulid in the 4 yrs we've been 2geva is worth fighting for... yes he's strayed once but i am no walk over and he has had hell from me the past 8 months about it all.... i believe that everyone can make mistakes and deserves the chance to put things right even if a child wasn't involved

yes my paranoia puts a strain on us but thats something we've got to work on together. its easy for those people without kids to say get rid but he's not out every wknd gettin hisa rocks off gettin trashed and treatin me like shit,if anything he gives me anything i want and need (within reason) i just don't understand why he goes off the rails every now and then, is this normal for a bloke to do??

having a baby puts a big strain on a couples relationship and can cause people to go off the rails. I'm not saying it's right, but it does happen. It's very easy to get all self righteous and spit venom but life is more complicated than that.
You say he does it every couple of weeks which could mean he's seeing someone regularly or could mean he's out with his mates getting trashed to escape the responsibility for a while. New mums get so wrapped up in the needs of the baby that it's easy to feel like a spare part and that can lead to unfaithfullnes too.
You need to find out which it is so at least you know what you are dealing with.
If he loves you and the child then it would be bad for him and you and your child to just dump the relationship.
Dads can be useful as well as useless. Kids can and do grow up fine with single parents but if there is a dad around who loves the child it would be sad to deprive them both of the relationship.

I think (some) women find this hard to understand .... but men NEED to go off the rails every now and again (when they need it) to keep them sane. Its in our genes.

The more you surpress an urge, the more likely someone is going to screw you around when they try to scratch that itch.
