i cant compare it to digital as ive never use it, unless it sweeps me off my feet i will stick with the vinyl, i just like lookin at my record boxes knowing i worked hard for that collection. i want a pair of cd's but i will still use vinyl more often, anyway it would be a pisstake tryin to get rid of me collection. is digital really that good?

I do that with windows media files

At the end of the day this is just my opinion, i don't 'play out', to be honest i don't aspire to, i just love my tunes and love mixing them!

You can play around a lot more with digital (fx, loops etc) but the end result is usually no different to using two 1210's and a normal mixer.

    I love it :king:

Most clubs these days have CDJs in, if not take your own. With regards to Traktor/Abelton etc you would just have that and your tunes on a lap top which you'd then rig up to the set up thats already there ;)

I think you will see more and more djs starting to do more live stuff (i.e. incoporating Laptops / Samplers etc etc) into their sets

I prefer CDJ because of the flexibitlity the technology gives you

But a fresh bit of vinyl is much more satisfying to put on than a CDR

Within 6 months I will be using my Laptop running Ableton alongside the standard technics/cdj setup

One of the reasons I wouldnt at the moment is that i have got a good enough cataloguing system in place to know where all the tracks where etc

i like vinyl compared to cd's i bought a cdj 1000mk2 for christmas
and i bet it's had about 50 quids worth of use dont get me wrong i think the cdj would be class for tricks and looping but i think you need two to feel the benefit plus i only have a djm 300
(2 channell ) mixer so only mixing vinyl to cd vise versa. i do like the feel of vinyl as you've got more control over it plus it's output is louder to cd's. never used traktor or abelton so can't comment on this although i would love to get a copy of abelton to give it a
try, really want a four channell mixer so i can incorporate all three together and looking to get another cdj by end of the year but vinyl is still my love for the mo

Theres a long way to go before people using ableton can put it to some creative use that translates well to the dancefloor, or to a meaningful general mix 'use' ......... until then its something that DJ's like sasha can use well, and others just use to mix badly and think that a random looped sample sounds 'creative'.
