I read an article a few years ago that gave an interesting argument that the government/powers that be are actually quite happy that so many young people are going out and taking drugs every weekend - you think that everything is great when you are battered, and can't be bothered to do anything about it when you're not. Think about it, over the last 15 years or so the younger generations have become increasingly less politically active.

Very good point actually .... Most people these days could not actually give a toss about what goes on in the world when theres a variety of little pills to make all your cares in the world go away....

.... although that doesnt explain the 60's ;)

i personally think there's apathy to all important issues nowadays - look when students used to go on marches to protest their views. can you see that happening nowadays? it might take valuable time away from buying skinny jeans in H&M

u can't blame it on drugs - it's the change in the mind set of the current generation and the previous 1 (who are now the parents)

People are apathetical partly because theres a lack of party ideology .... can anyone actually draw lines between what the blues, reds and yellows actually stand for, other than who you prefer the look of ....... with that in mind, who cares? ;)

Perhaps the skinny jeans at M&S have some kind of testicular constriction leading to a sort of emasculation that dampens down any subversive actions .... mebbes ;)
