i don't think that we should have to accept so many asylum seekers into this country...........it is costing the tax payers alot a money to ensure they can live in this country...........

it wud not b so bad if they attempted to learn our language so they cud live in this country but the some asylum seekers are just here cos its an easy ride!!

I agree nat we need stricter policy 2 filter out the bogus ones.... But in my eyes we don't really need to do fuck all but make the current system more efficiant.- I didn't know it was 9 month waiting system, but in all honesty if our government can't find out everything from the refugees dead pets name to his politcal belief in 9 months they don't deserve the job :D

I just don't see why British taxpaying citizens shud lose out on hospital beds, jobs and money to people who come over for an easy ride, should we not sort our own people out first?

bercause half the problems in the world are caused by western intereference.

If you run someone over if your not insuared your expected to pay for the damage.

And besides if someone is going to get murdered its humaine to help a fellow human out... If I see someone who's been beaten to shit in the street I do't turn and walk the other way I ring an ambulance and see what I can do to help.

    Its called being human.

Its daft but in this 9 months, they have 2 contact the relevant governmant, which in most cases is a run down country!!

U also get the peeps who claim "I no speak English" so a translater is required ( more ££s ) every time the person has an interview etc.

So although 9 months seems like along time really its not:(

And the best thing is ( im no 100% on this ) im pretty sure they can try claim asylum again after 1 YEAR after being denied:mad:

i never said that but out of the countries they could choose to seek asylum in - why choose britain.............it's cos we will accept them more readily with less checks than most other countries.....

i don't have a a problem with any genuine asylum seeker who will at least try & learn english or get a job but when they r very willing to just come in & sponge off the governemnt & the tax payers until the rest of the family come over who also sponge of us!!!!!

I have a problem with bogus asylum seekers who just sponge, but this isn't the case of every fucking asylum seeker u donkey - this is a stereotypical image created by the media to sell stories... yes they exist but not every asylum seeker refuses to speak english, work, etc.

They choose britain because they can make a better life for themselves as we're one of the most liberal and politically advanced countries there are... if u had no home, no friends, no money and were running from your government would you go to a country you know your going to be locked up and treated like a pow or would u go to a country who will treat you like a human being and give you a fair chance in life?

We may be sophisticated but we still have a high number of unemployed and sick... I just think that they should get the jobs and the hospital beds first b4 we start handing them out to others.

Then maybe we should concerntrate on these problem before we interfere in foreign policy... but while we're causing problems for others its our duty to help those in need.

Joe I admire your passion about these issues - don't fully agree with you. A lot of these thrid world countries have very poor records when it comes to human rights. I think we, as a developed country have a duty to step in.

And if we "caused" all these problems, surely we have even more of a duty to do something to help?

On the subject of Sadam I tend to agree the man needs to be stopped. But there are many other "rougue states" out there that have weapons of mass destruction, no respect for international law and harbour terrorists.

Are you suggesting that is we and the US stop dabbling in the affairs of other countries (or bully them as you put it) these human rights and terrorism issues would sort themselves out? I don't think so...

To add to that I also think America needs to sort it's own human rights issues out. (i.e the death pentalty).

What are my racist views Mr Jewboy?

If these people where Australian or American I wouldn't want them freeloading and taking my money or infecting my children with AIDS.

Its nothing to do with Race. But being a Jewboy you allowed to have a problem with that a guess.

These people (esp. the men) should be in their countries rebuilding... or even fighting for their country!

If someone breaks a window in my house would you be ok if I came round yours and jumped in your bed?

Why not? you barbaric racist pig!

Thats my poitn paul - I think we should help, but while we're helping we should also fix the problems we create. But if peoples only concerns are helping our sick and homeless then maybe we shoudln't interefere, maybe we should live as hermits and lock ourselves away from the rest fo the world....

I'm no military stratergist, but the israeli secret police alone are more than capable of taking out saddam in 1 covert op.... We don't need to invade a fucking country to remove one dictator. But this wouldn't solve the problem as there would still be a huge politcal legacy left behind him... If we invade we maybe conquer iraq bush grabs the oil reserves (unless its been burnt) and looks for his next country to opress (maybe korea - but I doubt as there is far more financially rewarding possibel targets).

Politics in my eyes is the only sollution to this problem... we're not on the brink of war the dollar is forcing us to the brink of war... There are a shed load of countries with far worse weapons of mass destruction than iraq, but these don't sell papers so the media don't hype them up.
