Whats your thoughts on asylum seekers

I'm with you 100% on this one Mark...... the way middle east countries treat their women is apalling. Someone else pointed out this is what homosexuals get as well. I didnt know that before.

There's simply no point in me saying my opinions on this - because it's been said by a lot of people already and therefore i would be adding nothing to the discussion - there is only so many opinions people can have, and as joe said - this isnt a statistics gathering exercise - but seeing as im now posting in this thread - i openly accept asylum seekers - however i also think that more stringent checks have to be implemented. genuine cases for asylum have to be noted, and something done about it - but at the moment - it's our poor attitude to security checks that needs to be in question - not the asylum seekers.

With better security checks, and an open attitude, we can reach a happy medium.

Amnesty International and hundreds of other charities oposed to the way they're treated get my FULL support, however a money greedy state using someone's misfortune as a way of making money gets fuck all support from me.

What happens after they've invaded, they've got control of the oil they've left a moraly corrupt politcal leader in charge... Nothing, you can't change a Nations culture over night, the stonings will continue these are deep rooted cultures, you can't change someones way of life over night it takes decades.... America will be nowhere to be seen, they wont enforce the well being of these womens, they'll enforce the well being of their oil reserves.

The UN gets my full support on weapons of mass destruction, if they feel Iraq is a threat to national security and an invasion is the only solution, then they get my full support. But if a global bully goes against the UN's advice because it wants to make money out of oil reserves that are double the size of the US then they can go to fucking hell... We are talking about a tearaway super power with no respect for anything but the dollar they regulary go against global policy in order to make money.... Iraq, the kyoto treaty, etc.

The US is a far bigger threat than Iraq, the likely hood of iraq launching an unprovoked war on the west is very unlikely. The likelyhood of the US provoking world war 3 is very fucking likely.

America are fucking amazing at feeding off human nature and guliblity (word?), they fuel prejudice and hatred with hyped up propoganda, praying on our human nature. If you want a better life for these women, why do you think 90% of them should be kicked out of this country?

I'm aware of some of the human rights abuses that happen in other places in the world, and they are abhorrent.

I don't know enough about why and exactly what goes on, so I didn't make any comment about it. I only form an opinion when I have enough information to do so. I especially don't air partially formed opinions.

The west is morally bankrupt. It's only gods are beauty money and power. If anyone hasn't realised this yet then they aren't using thier eyes/ears/brains properly

Personally I think our intelligence knows that saddam has got WMD's and an intention to use them if it comes to it, or maybe even if he just wakes up and feels like it one day. We just cant prove it because he keeps hiding them just before he lets the inspectors back in.

The majority are just lookin for an easy ride. We have free health service, free housin, and free fuckin money as far as most of them are concerned.

BUT if they are comin over here to genuinely work as equals and help contribute to our society then fine. What gets me is stuff like the fact that muslims(i think) dont have to wear crash helmets when ridin a motor bike cos of their religion that doesnt allow them to remove their turbans. Whereas by law we do. Why should they have different laws? Because of their religion?

If we went over their we couldnt legally drink because our religion allows it? This is what annoys me. They seem to have more rights than us. But this is not their fault. Its our own fault for allowing it. i have nothing against them as a people but they should be made to live by our rules etc if they want to live here and no exceptions should be made.

Not all refugees are muslim or come from muslim countries. As far as I am aware a large number come from Eastern European countries (Albania etc) were it is legal to drink alcohol.

Also, some Middle Eastern countries do allow non-nationals to drink alcohol. I lived in Qatar for a while, where there was one shop where you could buy it, you had to have a licence to buy and were limited on how much you could spend each month, but you could buy it. Places like the United Arab Emirates (Dubai, Abu Dhabi etc) are much more liberal and alcohol is fairly freely available. It is only really countries like Saudi, Pakistan etc where the rules are much tighter. Having said that some are liberal, I am not sure what it would be like if you were a refugee there.

Out of interest, I'm pretty sure it's Sikhs that wear turbans. Muslims don't!

And sikhs can actually remove their turbans they just can't cut their hair

Sikhs are fantastic ppl.

They are the ones who wear turbans and carry the swords etc.

They despise Pakistanis & Muslims.

Sikhs are are a very proud race, taking pride in cleanliness & family values (unlike cetain other asian races).

They also make lovely curry!

1. Sikh's aren't a race.
2. All religions hate each other.
3. All religions are proud.
