How did it die in the 80's when there are still rave's going on now.

I just do glad i am not you just following fashion.

Talking shite on message about subjects you are totaly cluless about.

But trying to pass yourself as some one who actual knows something because you went to a couple of trance partys.

And by the way our scummy raves are doing very well thanks.

Don't you dress like an emo now that trance is not cool anymore.

The funny thing is you know me but would never have the ball say this to my face.

    Says it all really.

Yeah its my christmas list from my lass/

Green velvet and jamie principle just did a new ep only one good track on it called the call but its a killer.

Someone just sold all there 88-92 detroit techno record to alt vinyl so have loads stuff behind the counter there to pick up.
Forgot how good Richie Hawtin early stuff was.

Best not bother though just buy loads minimal/electro house from beatport instead.

Cant top Energy Flash, Dominator, and basically any early hoover music!

You learnt who they were by and who dropped them later - its very much 'i like that track cos some bellend like judge jules plays it EVERY set' atm.

Re: nostalger (sp?) - its defo a trip down memory lane (the utube vids that started the thread (( as for the non worksafe link Steve posted - cant recall that level of filth at an allnighter! :) ))

I'd hop in my time machine for every single mayfair event - cos as the detox gent said, you got what you paid for in a big fooking way! There was a roid boy upstairs every mayfair-rez who sold some pukka e's :) Stick yer toes thru the upstairs handrail and you flew above a dancefloor jammed with complete up-for-it ravers!

There is still some great illegal and beach 'raves' happening, lucky peeps who get to them! Very jealous - life simply doesn't allow at the moment.

We should never of allowed the 'rockers' to claim the Mayfair - was a class venue in my opinion.

Although I do recall hearing Green Velvets track about balloons in Space and buying the tape it grabbed me that much! ( i've always been pants at naming tracks etc - was it cameras ready?)

theres to many record spotters in this thread, however,at least music was made on hardware and not ambelton clicky mouse software....it was played out on cassette and vynil - raw music

the only time i get a real buzz is when i hear good oldskool, not the anthems, the odd ball stuff u never realy hear..

i would also like to add that id rather pay 20 quid for a cushtie E than 20 quid for 10 shite rockets (gash E)

i also agree with Monomoonchinbrow, people go for the dj's now,not realy the music,,jockey sluts and record spotters,:tut: :tut:

the trendy bandwagoners kill scenes if u ask me. it happened to the early acid house stuff as people tried to make it more mainsteam in the early/mid 90's to make a few bob off it, it was the same with house in the mid 90's, the 'ministry of sound' generation then it was trance in the late 90's - people see it as popular so jump on board for a few years, think they've seen it all, got the t-shirt, hammer the drugs, whatever - then leave, on to the next fad.

i can't personally dance to any old school anymore - it's not where i am any more - but i still love to listen to it in it's correct context - in a darkened room, with up for it punters, all having the best time - for me it's the nostalgia of some of the best times in my life, the same way in 10 years on this period maybe.

you can't compare scenes and periods in time - things are just different - like we don't understand the importance of the 60's or the punk movement

haha where have i ever claimed to know all about music? tbh i know very little about music other than what i enjoy which is rock and house, I'm just opinionated and even then half the time on here i'm just fishing for a bite and couldn't give a fuck which was the case here lol.

As for following scenes where have i done that? i started out by going to trance nights clubbing wise, and it was just a couple month back i went to crasher which im pretty sure is still a trance night, and i go to house nights, and rock nights because i have different crowds of mates.

As for dressing like an emo that must be down to the fact i had long hair (which i no longer have) and occasionally wear skinny jeans (sorry if that makes you blush)

It seems your more into the whole scene thing than me as your trying to link me to one, whereas i jst go out and have a good time to all sorts of music and couldn't care less.

i dunno where you've got this bee under your bonnet over me anyways though? cos i had no problem with you till now lol

oh and i didn't read this little gem. For starters i never once had a dig at you on this board and don't have a problem with you at all, so why would i have ever had a go at you? until now i didn't realise you had a problem with me lol

I still don't give a shit but if you'd like to get personal for any reason go for it, then when i see you i will have something to say, till then i have no beef.

well how old are you? did you live and club in that age?

if you did it proves the "stick up for my hayday" theory, and what i've said wasnt a load of rubbish - its personal opinion, i cannot stress enough that personal taste and the wide range of it compells us to argue, however it will never end merely because i cannot submit myself to say "that stuff in the 90's was canny like" because i dont think it is, otherwise it's a double-standard or oxy-moronification (?) of my own tastes and beliefs.

i can bet my life that if i'm still alive when i'm 30 - promise would still be class, above and beyond are the bee's knee's and that tune "no one on earth" did define the era (yet again... for me).

whenever these boards get's set on an arguement based on peoples different opions, it'll be a 20+ pager guarunteed.

    scrap on.

The dance scene was better before it was actually invented.

The real old schoolers remember the days where there was no actual music, but you could just TELL in another persons eyes what they were thinking. No actual music actually needed to be created it was just that cool.

Everything since has been shit. FACT.

surely what he's said is a tad hypocritical, you both know each other, and yet he thinks that you don't have the balls to say anything to him off-board, yet in the same vein he's quite happy to slag you off via a thread?
