I like Vuzz - music is tops and a good crowd. Also, you don't have to pay a quid entry like some other unmentionable nights...

Been to both The cottage and the stout fiddler and for me the fidla wins hands down.

Newcastle needs more small nights ,i just wish each small night had more of an identity and didnt feel the need to keep showcasing each others jocks. I know its good to share but you end up seeing the same people everywhere.

Egypt cottage was made popular in recent times by Sunday Trading courtesy of Neil adams.

Up until then no one would touch it with a barge pole.


But Scruf also got a point too,

fair play bowt the cottage, its not the greatest venue in the world. but cos we play good music and is a stones throw away from foundation, IT WORKS. if we moved to another 'better' venue across town we'd lose people coming cos its further away. vuzz used to get criticised cos of the sound/decks ect, but now the decks and monitors is as good as most nightclubs. using the new monitors on friday, noone can complain bowt the set up anymore. its now being ran properly thanks to paul & scott and it has improved 100% in the last 6 months, having some quality nights with a great buzz about the place. and in newcastle we play as big a part as anybody in promoting new djs, giving bedroom djs somewhere to play, which is what its all about at the end of the day.

and last thing... egypt cottage is not vuzz, and vuzz is not just about egypt cottage, and in the next 6 months vuzz will improve another 100%

you cant argue with the facts. Ask neil (manager at the time) who was originally offered the weekly Friday night. If Vuzz hadnt got the Friday on a weekly basis (end 2002) I doubt they would still be here (under the old regime) as every other night there folded

Tension has moved to Rockies Bar. The new management weren't as keen to have a fetish night as the old ones were.

Just like to point out that myself and Kent were doing spank! on a Friday at Egypt Cottage, starting May 2002. We moved our night to a Saturday after Gav expressed an interest in the Friday nights and when we became warm up for Nice @ The Playrooms.

Can only remember Detox doing one off's there.

The manager at the time was a lad called Gary. Neil didn't take over till around Christmas.
