Pike you talk so much shit!

The guardian/icm poll actually said 13% of the muslim community thought that more attacks against the US were justified - there was no mention of spain!

this poll was also only taken by 500 people - hardly an accurate snapshot of the british muslim population.

The ICM survey also shows that the overwhelming majority of British Muslims - 73% - are strongly opposed to terrorist attacks by al-Qaida and other organisations.

"The ICM survey also shows that the overwhelming majority of British Muslims - 73% - are strongly opposed to terrorist attacks by al-Qaida and other organisations. But a small minority - 13% of British Muslims - disturbingly say they believe further such attacks on the US would be justified." ...is all I can find

that was some spin to get 50% would be suicide bombers

Leading British Muslims have refused to condemn the results of a poll that showed nearly half of their one-and-a-half-million-strong community would consider becoming a suicide bomber if they were Palestinian.

A shocking 47 per cent of those quizzed in the Guardian ICM poll published on Tuesday agreed with Liberal Democrat MP Jenny Tonge that she might consider becoming a bomber under the same conditions as a Palestinian – compared to just 15 per cent of the wider population.

The survey also revealed 13 per cent of UK Muslims thought further al-Qaida attacks on the US would be justified.

But despite these stark findings, Muslim peer Lord Nazir
Ahmed said: “They don’t surprise me. I know the Muslim community has been very much concerned with what’s happening in Palestine and Israel. It doesn’t concern me because in democracies people do have their opinions.

“I believe the question should also be asked whether the majority of people in the Jewish community think its acceptable that young Palestinians are being killed by helicopter gunships.

Secretary general of the Muslim council of Britain, Iqbal Sacranie, insisted the poll did not mean British Muslims felt suicide bombings in Israel were justified.

He said: “What really comes out is there is a very strong feeling in sympathy with the suffering of the Palestinians. But it should not be misconstrued that these people support suicide bombings or would carry out a suicide bombing.”

Lord Ahmed said: “I think when people can see on a daily basis the missiles, helicopter gunships and tanks firing at civilians on one side, they form strong opinions. It’s a growing opinion that we can see in the general public too.”
Imam Abduljalil Sajid, chairman of the Muslim council for religious and racial harmony UK, insisted both Jenny
Tonge’s statement and the question posed in the poll could be interpreted in different ways.

He disputed that a large proportion of British Muslims supported the use of terror against Israeli civilians.
He said: “Muslims still believe occupation is a source of violence, and when occupation continues, violence will not stop.”

But Anjem Choudary, the UK head of extremist group al Muhajiroun, claimed support for suicide bombings and terror attacks against Israel and the west was even higher than the poll findings suggested but many Muslims were simply scared to express their true feelings.

He said: “I think it’s more like 98 or 99 per cent who support martyrdom operations. And the other one or two have sold out. The vast majority of Muslims around the world support Al Qaeda and most agree with jihad against the power state of Israel.”

Board of Deputies defence director Mike Whine said was far from shocked by the results. He said: “We see so much stuff being beamed at the Muslim community either from the Middle East or Islamist organizations, which is anti-American, pro-terrorist, anti-Israel and Anti-Jewish. And when you add that to the racism in this country, people are going to become disaffected on the one hand and influenced by these messages.”

Three Faiths Forum co-ordinator Sidney Shipton said: “We are not very happy about it. But those who are associated with the Three Faiths Forum would not accept that and we would redouble our efforts to bring together Jews, Christians and Muslims.”

I can't believe all the votes for the Conservatives! And two for the BNP?!

do you realise what would happen to us under their Governments

Theres nowt wrong with the Lib Dem's, they have some good ideas and polocies, but they just don't get the public backing.

I bet you a tenner Labour still stays in power.

Would be utterly shite if the Conservatives got into power.

Yeah, so we pay less taxes, which admittedly sounds like a good thing but it will essentially make the rich richer and the poor poorer.

Not a good idea to vote Conservative IMO, not a working class party at all.

Edit: didnt realise there was three pages so thats why its gone off topic
